Please post your tips for cash grinding here - need money to fund my AH habit.  Cursed tempting buyout premiums!

Try to limit your answers so they're profession-free (yes Niel, I know you can make loads from skinning but when you pick flowers like I do it doesn't help ;) )

Cheers
If I wanted you to understand I would have explained it better

Rawhskegs might grinding guide:

Depends entirely on your level friend, but here goes. I believe you are a Mid 30 level Warlock (you black hearted demon worshipper you) so second to us hunters you are a soloist par excellence. Therefore it's off to Strangelthorn Vale for you my friend. Go slaughter the bad people at Kurzens Compound. Nice cloth drops, cash and a smattering of green items.

Then go hunt those impressive raptors behind the Gurabashi Arena (did I tell anyone I won the 'chest free for all' last night, took down a Shaman troll for the glory). They drop lots of nice teeth and stuff. It's a shame you don't skin as I can get loads of heavy leather from them.

Then on to the Venture Co Base Camp and a quick bit of Goblin genocide. Good loot drops include mageweave and green items. I've been lucky and had a few blue drops from there.

If you get bored with The Vale then head off to Alterac and go bash the Ogres at Growless Cave and Gallows Corner. I've had some good times there.

Good loot drops can also be had from Gnomeregan (Toxic Avengers) and Swamp of Sorrows (Emerald Whelplings).

As you level into the high 30's and low 40's then head off to the Badlands and bash the various rock elementals. It's amazing how much NPC's will pay for bit's of rock and dust. The spider cave near Brackenwall in the Swamp of Sorrows is also a good spot for Lv 40+

Then back to Stranglethorn for the higher level raptors, naga and trolls. Basically Starnglethorn is a grinders paradise. For a hunter like me it's near heaven but a warlock should be able to solo well against these brutes.

From level 40 up also take a look at Feralis and it's Wastewander bandits, Feral Scar Vale and The Isle of Dread.

Into the upper 40's and your looking at Azshara, Searing Gorge and Dunemaul Compound in Tanaris.

Hit 50 and we're off to Azshara again, Fellwood and The Burning Steppe. Brave souls might just want to peak into the Western Plaguelands.

Finally we hit Western and Eastern Plaguelands proper and then the mighty Winterspring where you wil die and die and die again.

Do the Instances too. Apart from being fun they also give great drops if you win the rolls. Grinding is slower on a role play server as you have to make a role play case for killing all that stuff. Personally I make my money buy trading my leather goods but that probably explains why my hunter is only Level 43 so far. That and being a stoodent again. However I did manage to make my 90 gold for the ram in a few weeks and kept it role play as well. Being a filthy warlock means you get that damn Fellsteed for free, you sod.

Hope this helps.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Auction House:

Turnover is the key.  Too many people set ridiculous buyout prices and high min bids and then find that nobody buys the goods and they there lose the buy out fee.  Set the min bid and buyout bid close together and make sure your buyout is at an attractive level, that way it gets bought first.  The trick is not to leave an item unsold - if you are greedy (which most people at AH are) then you set a ridiculous price for the item and you end up not selling and having to pay the auction house deposit.

Don't bother auctioning any low level stuff.  Soem green stuff auctions, anyhting better (blue and above) tends to go well, but check the turnover of goods currently on sale.  I have held back things when i have seen a clutch of similar items already on sale at AH, but then 2 days later when there is nothing I have sold the same item for much higher prices due to it being the only one up for auction.

Watch high value items - every now and then you see something going for a song - I buy them and put them stright back into AH with the auction for better prices.  Don't try to follow everything though - try to follow things that help you and are related to yoru profession.  For example, as a leatherworker I can use Shadow Oil and Moss Agate to make some mid-level stuff, so I kept my eye on things and used to pick up most for about 20-30S, but sold most for 90S-1G30S.  Easy money :)

Try to make your auction end in the evening - maximum through put.

8 hour auctions offer best value for time versus auction house fee.

Watch recipes real closely - some go for a few coppers and will sell for considerably more.  I make a good profit each week buying cheap recipes and reselling on AH.

High value items are worth a shout in IF announcing they are there.  Don't do it too often or for too many items as it then becomes spam and annoying.

Oh and only sell to NPC in places where you are honoured - you get better prices :)

Best way is to get a group together and go into instances were there are much harder monsters with higher drop rates so that you get some decent stuff in drops. Then sell these in the AH, though grinding certain areas like near gadgetzan is good. Just depends on your lvl and how much time you have on your hands. Another thing is to look on thotbott see what items sell well check the AH to see is some1 has put the price to low buy it and resell it works a treat.

Failing that.....

Get a profession like tailoring, as you can make bags which everyone in the game needs. I can make 14 slot bags sell them for 5G+ each, and working on 16 slots :). Thats were the money as well as high level enchanting.

If you're lvl 47+ go to the beach on the east of the Hinterlands............kill the turtles......the drops are worth good money .....if you CAN skin then it's also a great place for skinning but it isn;t necessary. A few hours spend grinding to fill your bags to the top can reap a good few G.

Lvl 30+ or so i always found that the area around Refuge Point in Arathi always paid well with drops......and as the beasties arn;t too far from the vendors it isn;t far to go to unload the valuable junk collected and get back out there.

Lvl 50+ then Un'goro Crater is a good place to be.

There are certain items that sell pretty well on AH.....Breath of Wind etc.....Thottbot the items of your choice and go out and get them.

TBH i personally find that grinding through the Quests pays just as well as grinding an area and pays off in drops/rewards/xp.
