Last night on the razor I found that we had 1 team full (4-5) of dMw and the other side full of publics. I don't really think thats promoting teamplay, I ended up joining the the side with no dMw, but im no leader and without a few more dMw on there, getting a tcs style of game going is hardwork.

I know the temptation is there to join the side with most dMw just so you know you'll get TCS and banter. I got bored pretty quick last night and left fairly early. (although I was tired from a late night previuos)

I think if we make a bit more effort in splitting the dmw up on razor we could get a good game going.

This was down to some bizarre coincidence of auto select and there was some other fella's who asked us to change ...we only did this for a few rounds and realised ourselves that it looked like stacking and changed over after a few rounds ...we received no complaints whatsoever from any player on either side so no harm was done  ;)

and yes .......there was one specific ar$e that persisted in flashing his own team when we rushed in the mincer on dust ...we told him time after time to stop doing it .........and he did ...he used HE instead the next round ......

publics eh !!!
I really was not born to work ALL my life !!!!!

ah my bad then madness. :)

I think we just have a few members (myself included) that are a touch quiet on VC (dont talk as much) so when we have a server full of quiet members, especially in public we arnt pushing TCS.

Note to self, push TCS when on Razor!

If members started to play on our public server rather than dotted around playing on other publics, before you knew it i'm sure there'd be enough on to sneek of to the hook.

we did just that last week at some point :D I think there were often enough dMw online in an evening, just that 4 were on the BODclan server and 4 or 5 on the public CZ one. Personally I'd like to see more CSS coming into the equation, but essentially I think that that's part of the reason things have slipped. Some people are still stuck on cs1.6, and some, like me, jumped straight from 1.6 to source (although I do have a sort of loan of CZ at the moment...)

Can't the WoW crew start playing in dual monitor mode so they can manage their mmorpg on one screen and play CS on the other 8)

you really need some admins (and preferrably a good deal of admin-say things popping up!) on the public server to make this work though. I find that the "public" aren't always interested in listening to orders    and the fact that sometimes the dMw member(s) who are trying to control things start getting rather, um, curt? at having had to explain the idea every other round to each new player so you end up with small chunks of each side playing TCS and the rest playing regular old deathmatch. Then the dMw members end up getting drawn into the more public style play because they're outnumbered and want some sort of game and are forced into mememe-mode

Occasionally the rushing team manages some cohesion, but the defenders are usually pretty unco-ordinated, all run off on their own missions (as ususal on publics!) and you end up in a small band of dMw trying to hold it together...

The idea behind the public-ness is good, but perhaps as soon as there's 8+ dMw online we should think about heading to the passworded server(s)? ...unless of course the public game is actually going well! :lmfao:

maybe its worth using Razor as a TCS server and enforce it. If publics dont want to play TCS style and persist on running off on there own we give them a soft kick ;)

There in lies the dilemma. :(
Smaller numbers on MH (maybe too small to get a proper game going) versus Larger numbers on Razer (with the inherent work that is involved in getting poeple to play TCS)

Isn't that why bots in CZ are so handy? Getting a bunch of dMw peeps against a team of bots makes for good games even when we don't get enough people to get rid of the bots.

I find humorous (for those watching) slapping, typically down to 1hp, tends to help? especially if the person in question is just stepping off a ledge  reserver the kick for those who didn't listen and/or are really just trying to be a pain? always include a reason for the slap/kick though as otherwise the vitcim will just get worse!

I agree with the lack of attraction for CS, I know it isn't really a huge outlay, but with my average bank balance fluctuating aroun the £5 mark by the last week of the month, I don't want to spend any more than I have to. I see little point in shellig out for CS:CZ as it seems just a tarted up version of 1.6, and before you all correct me and say how good it is, I am aware of all the ways in which it's better, I just object to it.

If they ever sort CS:S out then I will buy it as it represents a good step forward IMO.

Finally I will be buying BF2 when that comes out, and I for one would love to see a TCS dMw BF2 server, even at the expense of 1 or 2 CS servers. I think CS is largely on its way out, the graphics and physics don't cut it anymore, and gameplay is only good on the TCS servers, and while gameplay has always been the aim of CS, and has for the large part ensured its continued longevity, I'm afraid that that isn't enough anymore, it badly needs the modernisation that Source claimed to offer.

Therefore unless Source ever gets sorted out, I think the era of CS is indeed passing, and the state of the servers reflects that.

Careful. Razer is a public server (It says so on the label). :)

We cannot enforce TCS on a public server. To do so would have the admins climbing the walls and the server empty of raw recruits.

We simply do what we've been doing - showing the great unwashed how we at dMw play the game and wait for the penny to drop.

So don't be put off of joining Razer. We have had some very good rounds on there and the idiots are soon dispatched. If you do join, remember to use your comms often. It's what quickly advertises our different style. And rest assured that we will move to MH as soon as numbers allow.

there are some, no, lots of idiots out there, but I have seen punters on Razer start to come round to a more TCS way of playing...not all but some...

as a matter of interest...has anyone registered for MH as a result of playing on the publics?

that would be a result 8)
