Hi again, thank you for your quick attention to this matter. I think your beef is with the Staff at levels4you. They are the ones who had MY map listed under YOUR name. I did google dead man walking clan, yours is the only active clan under that search. What was I to think? I see some of you also create levels here, ask yourself what you would do if you found one of your levels was credited to a member of my clan.

Now at levels4you site a Staff member named Gandalf has admitted to posting my level there and assuming it was yours some how and giving you credit for it. The apology your seeking should come from him/her.

Im not versed in English laws, but in America we take matters like this very seriously. I have been assured by our corporate legal counsel that the one and only party liable here is the holders of the levels4you domain name. If you wish to pursue this matter further please email me at scott@deadclan.com and I can refer you to my legal counsel.

With that out of the way let me state that I am regretfull that this situation arose. I can see that neither you or your clan had claimed to have authored the level in question. This seems like a situation that could have been avoided by using some common sence on the part of the staff at levels4you.

I do thank you for your time and attention given to this very serious matter.

 In hindsight I should have contacted a DMW member privately here BEFORE I posted. I regret that I did not. You have not responded with the general name calling or flaming that I expected to see in responce to my original thread. Instead you were mature and productive.  

We've been a h-l gaming clan for 5 years now, and my experiance with other clans/communitys I find that I'm generally dealing with far less mature people than you guys seem to be.

I am truly sorry for assuming that you, DMW clan had claimed my level DEADCLAN as your own. I can see now that you made no such claim. I was wrong. I also apologize for any bad feelings that I mave have caused. I acted to harsh. I should have waited for a responce from levels4you before I posted here or on our DEADCLAN site. That is also something I regret. This site and our DEADCLAN forum are the only places I've posted about this matter.

In our clan Honor and fairness in play are the only qualifications needed to be a member. We may not be the best players but we always try to do the honorable and right thing. I think I see the same quality in your clan.

Once again I am truly sorry for any offence I may have caused. I regret my original post. And thank you for the way in which you handled this matter.

P.S. Its not the location, its our host that causes the slow site. After 4 years with one host we switched to another cheaper host. Proves you get what you pay for. Whos your host? This site is very fast.

Actually I our beef was with YOU who incorrectly named us as the offending clan.  

You did not speak to us at all to confirm your brief and incorrect research, you just jumped in and landed with both feet firmly in your mouth.  The fact that the notation of our community name was different and the actual game that we play was different seemed to matter little to you, you just waded in without any thought for the poitential you had go it wrong - which you had - and the damage that such accusations could cause.  :angry:

Please check next time before you hurl false accusations in a busy public forum - and ours is busy, we get a lot of traffic here.  :angry:

Btw, Gandalf (Levels4you) posted that amendment only after I posted on their forums to point out the error of YOUR ways.  I directed them to these forums and our replies which corrected you.  He sent me a PM apologising.  

As for legal liability, you'll be glad to hear that US law does not apply to libellous comments posted on a UK forum.  You posted on ours and are subject to British Law.

Anyway, we accept your apology and consider the matter closed.

Whilst writing, can we recommend that you make appropriate postings on your own forum to correct your own original and incorrect posts accusing our community?  Several of us tried, but the bandwidth serving your forum and website must be measured in pico-kbps because it took me over 2 hours just to try to register with your site.   We recommend that you find something bigger than a 33kbps modem to host it on in future.

Btw, my public thanks to BlueBall who spent the best part of 4 hours trying to post up and notice on the Deadclan forums - he eventually managed to get the pages to load without dropping the connectiona nd managed to get a post up referring Scott to these forums and these threads.  Thanks BB, you're a better and more successful man than me!
