Occasionally my computer drops into choppy-lag mode while playing BF2 on the dMw server, not due to connection (although it has trouble with that sometimes too) and I'm guessing cpu, gfx, or memory of some sort...It' feels like the pc is only managing to process commands in chunks and update the graphics once a second so I suspect cpu/ram of getting bogged down, that or the graphics ram having to load/unload textures? Putting the resolution down a notch helped reduce it when it did happen. As I said it happens in the multiplayer sometimes even when facing a relatively simple scene so I don't suspect the graphics card.

PC spec is Athlon xp2400+, 1Gb pc2700, 128mb 9800pro. Turning the resolution down a notch from 1260 to 800 seems to help avoid it, but it doesn't happen if I just fire up a server and run around on it (although I must try that again for some length of time...) so I'm thinking either some memory (system/graphics) is taking it's time to load/unload or something is overheating and is there a good way to monitor the system/graphics temperatures? I'll have a peek at sisoft sandra this evening to see if I can work out how to use it... main trouble is that it doesn't report my mainboard temperatures correctly (250 degC for system temp... :roflmao: )

SM, it'll be your graphics card. The recommendation is to have 256MB. Any less and you'll struggle.  :(
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

Check in your BIOS to see what your AGP aperture is set to. the default is 64Mb but its worth changing to 128Mb to see if things improve. Don't bother with 256 mb.
