QuoteA friend of mine has bought this wheel, and since he is no computer expert, i was there to help him with the installation. And of course, a little testing was about to occur.
First time i heard was when it was performing normal calibration procedure. It's mechanism sounded like DFP, and alot like DFP, not at all like G25. But it was very quick on calibration, just like G25 or even faster.
After startup, driver installation, testdrive Tested it with RBR, rotation 540, and also tweaked all RBR hidden FF settings (ConstantForceMultiplier removed, FF Torque increased, filters removed).
PS. While the game was being loaded, i was rotating it around, and noticed that it actually is smoother then G25. I guess due to lack of one motor = less gearing.
When i got on track, first test was on Rally School stage, and what a fantastic thing! It's smoothness is just fantastic, i could hardly tell i was driving on geared mechanism. Just that it has noticeably lower ff strength then G25. But it is sooo smooth.
And second note - it is as fast, maybe as G25. Didn't have much time for test, but in RBR i could play quite some "throw and catch" and it did very well.
Didn't test it with anything else, beneath rbr he has only rFactor, and no realfeel in it, so i didn't want to bother how the rumbling feels on this wheel
Build quality is very good, seems to me that rubber on the wheel is bit stiffer then that on DFP. Tons of buttons, everything which looks like it can be moved is somekind of button
Pedals - well look the same, maybe even feel the same as the dfp ones, don't remeber how dfp pedals actually felt. But the link above says these are different for good.
If you have some good pedal set and don't use H shifter, then this is the way to go.
Plus it has more buttons then you'll need. Maybe you would occasionally use all, but thats just occasionally. I like the way G25 feels in hand, just that leather feels way better then rubber on DFGT. I never liked rubber wheels.
But it is smoother then G25, and probably equally fast on countersteering.
Overall very good wheel, with slightly lower price it would be best buy. It would be also with this price just if it had better pedals, which are only major issue in the DFGT package.
Quote from: Slider 46;290136Its possible that i've had too much time on my hands over the last two days.
There's still abit to do but i'll hopefully be taking it for a test drive tomorow afternoon.
Quote from: Gnomie;288759What type of shifter does the Abarth have in real life? It uses the H-gate shifter automatically for me, but even with autoclutch disabled it still seems to be clutching by itself. So.. can it really have an H-gate which doesn't require manual clutch..? :g:
