Live for Speed / LfS Add-ons
January 11, 2010, 01:14:18 AM
Hi guys. Last night i wanted to check some action on DMR server via LFS Remote, but it said something like "invalid hostname" or something, and there was no dmr server in the list...

I just showed my girlfriend how she can watch me from far away (she is in different town), she said it's cool thing, but there is no dmr server... And i tough she's about to get at least 1% of understanding for what "i do" :norty:

Live for Speed / Happy Cristmas
December 26, 2009, 04:41:13 PM
Hello guys, happy christmas everyone!

Been driving last night on LFS DMR server. After some year-and-half of being away from lfs (and few months from simracing in general), i had a blast last night two fantastic fights with DeeSlider and RSR.Boogle. It was great, even tough there was only three of us...
I may become regular on lfs server, to have my brain relaxed a bit of studying hard to get that damn college to an end, so i can have as much sim racing as i want :)

rFactor / Crackin Mod
November 20, 2009, 07:18:51 PM
You can find about that mod here

That forum is run by the creator of the mod, nickname SlimJim.

Why this mod isn't being mentioned too much or isn't at all on RSC - back then when the v1.0 or demo or something got out it was praised, but then GPLEA came and claimed that it was conversion from gpl with their textures taken so it is "illegal" and stuff... That's why it isn't on RSC and rfcentral.

On the site linked you will find alot of "RSC illegal addons" like conversion of almost all simibin cars to rfactor, tracks, and models from other games.
But they have mods like this, i also like F1 1991 LE.
You need to register there to see all subforums, one among them is dedicated to this mod only.

Racing Sims / Racing sim hardware

Quote from: spudgun55;296533thanks for the feedback, i have just finished watching a review of this wheel on inside sim racing and they also gave it a very good review, better than the logitech pro:g:

Hi there, i would really recommend you go for the DFGT for that price. Here is a review i have written on GPC forum last year when i tested it.

QuoteA friend of mine has bought this wheel, and since he is no computer expert, i was there to help him with the installation. And of course, a little testing was about to occur.

First time i heard was when it was performing normal calibration procedure. It's mechanism sounded like DFP, and alot like DFP, not at all like G25. But it was very quick on calibration, just like G25 or even faster.

After startup, driver installation, testdrive  Tested it with RBR, rotation 540, and also tweaked all RBR hidden FF settings (ConstantForceMultiplier removed, FF Torque increased, filters removed).
PS. While the game was being loaded, i was rotating it around, and noticed that it actually is smoother then G25. I guess due to lack of one motor = less gearing.

When i got on track, first test was on Rally School stage, and what a fantastic thing! It's smoothness is just fantastic, i could hardly tell i was driving on geared mechanism. Just that it has noticeably lower ff strength then G25. But it is sooo smooth.
And second note - it is as fast, maybe as G25. Didn't have much time for test, but in RBR i could play quite some "throw and catch" and it did very well.

Didn't test it with anything else, beneath rbr he has only rFactor, and no realfeel in it, so i didn't want to bother how the rumbling feels on this wheel

Build quality is very good, seems to me that rubber on the wheel is bit stiffer then that on DFP. Tons of buttons, everything which looks like it can be moved is somekind of button

Pedals - well look the same, maybe even feel the same as the dfp ones, don't remeber how dfp pedals actually felt. But the link above says these are different for good.

If you have some good pedal set and don't use H shifter, then this is the way to go.
Plus it has more buttons then you'll need. Maybe you would occasionally use all, but thats just occasionally. I like the way G25 feels in hand, just that leather feels way better then rubber on DFGT. I never liked rubber wheels.
But it is smoother then G25, and probably equally fast on countersteering.

Overall very good wheel, with slightly lower price it would be best buy. It would be also with this price just if it had better pedals, which are only major issue in the DFGT package.

Honestly, i wouldn't take those inside sim racing guys too seriously on some of the stuff, they said that Thrustmaster Ferrari F430 replica wheel is better then DFGT, which it isn't in any aspect. Few weeks ago i had a chance to test F430. Apart from the cute looking thing it fails miserably when compared to Logitech wheels.
FF is "notchy" and unsmooth even tough it uses a belt drive.
It's imprecise, uses potentiometer on the wheel - actually potentiometer is not the one to blame for imprecision, it's the A/D converter which it is connected to - it has very little resolution - you can see steps clearly when steering.

Live for Speed / LFS minimising
November 13, 2009, 08:31:05 PM
I also had this problem before and was unable to link it anything - for which i blame long intervals between "minimizations". But, i also did have lfs switching to window mode - resizing from full screen to window right upon startup. It still does the latter, but haven't played it for long time now so i forgot about these issues.

Racing Sims / Can someone clear this up?
October 05, 2009, 10:41:03 PM
IMO this was completely Delanvital's fault.
I didn't watch it from helicopter view, as you suggested, i watched it only from your onboard view.

Sorry Delanvital, i don't know you, but expecting him to lift off there  is wrong thinking.
If you two were in daily traffic, and you were signaling with turn indicator that you are about to change lane, then it would be ok for obsolum to slow down....Not in this situation.

Live for Speed / LFS possibly coming with Rockingham?
September 21, 2009, 11:29:05 PM
Really looking forward to this, i always wished there would be some real tracks in lfs. As for the cars, i'm perfectly ok to drive some "fantasy" cars, but always wanted to have some real track. And it's gonna be laser scanned. Fantastic!

5? What about 6?

Two in front of you, as a windscreen, two on each side of you.

And perhaps two behind you? You can then look back for real! :norty:
And you can attach a real rear view mirror on top of the front monitors :woot2:

NetKar - Assetto corsa / V1.1 Beta 2 Released
September 05, 2009, 07:24:52 PM
Quote from: Gnomie;288759What type of shifter does the Abarth have in real life? It uses the H-gate shifter automatically for me, but even with autoclutch disabled it still seems to be clutching by itself. So.. can it really have an H-gate which doesn't require manual clutch..? :g:

I highly doubt it is so.
But if it did, it wouldn't be inovation. There was one model of twingo that had something called easy shifting or something like that - h shifter without clutch pedal or you were not required to press it in all situations. Also later mercedes introduced similar system in its a-class model.

*Sorry for off topic

Wow that list of fixes really looks promising with attention to details.

Reminds me of lfs test patches..
