As far as dMw rules go.

Yes. You are in you rights to go into the spawn and do what is needed.

And good on you ;)

Battlefield 3 / Query about Battlefield 3 24 hour ban
November 13, 2011, 09:41:44 PM
Quote from: Penfold;337243I'm not sure if you're being serious in this post but on the off-chance you are......

Yes Pen, I am being serious.

QuoteSecondly, about the offence itself.

TE, in his own post, points out that he was aware it is against our rules and had "attempted to do it less" and that "on such a tight map such as operation Metro I do without thinking". So he fact he did it I would imagine is not in dispute ?

Sorry, TE was NOT aware it was against the rules the first time the warning was issue, hence why he disputed the fact on TS... There are no rules atm for BF3 apart from the global standards. When we are on the server we as members try to respect the rules from the BC2 server purely out of "try to do the right  thing".
Only one dMw member complained about the jumping, and it was actioned upon by an admin.

The same person again complained the following night about it.

Nobody else complained about it.

Even though alot of dMw players do the same thing.
The GL issued a warning, and actioned on it the second time which is fair enough.. But only on the basis of a complaint from the same member time after time.

I feel that I do have a right to comment on it because I was there.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 / Dude.. I've lost my tag
November 13, 2011, 09:16:19 PM
+1. I total agree wiht the decision.

However...

Allot of people put allot of time and effort  into making the server a success. That badge was a symbol of what they accomplished.

If you take it away then the management must also remove every other badge that no one plays anymore.

Ie CE,COD4,Left 4 dead etc etc etc.................

The ONLY way that you are being spawn camped is if you are being killed in the SPAWN area.

If this happens, then you need to notify an admin.

If you spawn on a squad member, then that is fair enough....

Alot of people complain that they spawn/die/spawn/die. If this is happening outside your main base... then...It is your own fault!

Battlefield 3 / Last Night!!

Honesty head on....

The way I saw it, the sides were completely stacked. Even to the point were server lost all the players and  went down to 10v10.
It was like playing the AI in single mode.

We walked through the opposition like they were not there.

I mentioned after a couple of rounds that this is wrong. Only then did the sides change.

Personally,  I did not see how it was a "great night".

OK, Please before I comment on the Ban.

Pen, You have linked to the GAMING STANDARDS.   I would like to know exactly where TE has deviated from it.

I questioned it at the time and I still do not agree with the punishment.

QuoteBunnyhopping has ALWAYS been frowned upon on our servers and always will be

Sorry , I failed to find the rule/guideline anywhere.

Battlefield 3 / Rush on our server

Quote from: DrunkenZombiee;336980It was me having a hissy fit on TS not Tut. Tut was typing in game which I did point out on TS before he left.

Oppologies about this mix up between you both.
QuoteSometimes I wish that there was no levelling system in FPS games (like CS) as it encourages less teamwork and a "kill at any cost" mindset for a lot of players trying to get to level 50 as quickly as possible. As a casual game I probably wont hit 50 by the time the next one comes out so for me its all about the fun of playing with some mates. Tonight wasn't fun!

If you follow your squad leader and carry out the task he has assigned. together as a team. Spot for each other etc etc

You will gain more points than you would just kill hunting. Fact.

You get score multipliers for everything you do as a team.

We have two extra channels in the TS.

You can setup hot keys in TS to switch you between the channels whilst in game.
You can also set up a key to broadcast to the different channels in case you need to speak to the other team.

Battlefield 3 / Rush on our server
November 10, 2011, 11:34:09 PM
Yes...How selfish I am....

Switching to a team that was getting raped, creating a new squad, getting dMw members to join me and helping them out.

Guiding them around the map and spotting for them, issuing orders etc

The round before that (the one with the carrier rape) I spent 95% of that game in a transport chopper ferrying dMw members and publics back and too between the ship and the land.
To try and turn the game. Faust was even laughing at me because I was getting shot down all the time :D

I am sooooooo selfish.

ps. I am not an admin ;)

Quote from: Tutonic;336949Naldo & varg, you should both be ashamed.

Absolute ********.

During your hissy fit on TS.... At NO time did I advance past the flags. I was defending the flag for the hole time. Flag A is NOWHERE near the spawn
I distinctly remember saying to you on TS that we COULD NOT switch teams as

a, There was no admin on the server to do it
b, The teams we equal with 10 v 10 players

As SOON as a space became available I switched sides

I also distinctly remember saying on TS that there is 4 ways out of the spawn point.
I proved this as Gortex joined my squad and we took 3 points straight away. Turning the game around.

Your post is way out of line.

Battlefield 3 / Party setup
November 09, 2011, 11:03:04 PM
Here is a little instructional guide on how to use Party and Voice efficiently on Battlelog.
1. If you want to create a new Party click "Create party" in bottom of Com Center. If you want to join a friends' party just click the party icon next to that friend. Blue Party icon indicates that the friend is in a Party.

2. You are in the party! This will look almost as a regular chat window but with more slots for people in the top. When the Party-icon is glowing blue you're also in the Voice Channel. You can leave the voice channel by clicking "Leave voice" above the avatars.

3. Invite up to 7 more players by using the Drop Zone. Simply drag a friend from the Com Center and drop him on the party.

4. If you wanna keep the party private, for only you to invite more players, just click the pad lock in the party header (only available for the creator of the party).

5. Leave the Party by clicking the X in the Party header.

Direct post from Battlelog devs....

Following this fixed my issues using Avast security.

First up:
Visit http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ [adobe.com] and make sure you have version 11 or later installed. Upgrade flash if there is an update available.

Update your anti-virus to the latest version
AVG, Bitdefender, Avast, and most other anti-virus programs offer free upgrades to the latest version. Do it!
Old versions are not up to date and may block legit connections.

Test websocket connections in Chrome
1. Go to http://websocket.org/echo.html [websocket.org]
2. Click on Connect. Do you get a line saying CONNECTED in the Log window?
3. Click on Send. Do you get SENT and RESPONSE lines in the Log window?
4. If you answered "No" to 2 or 3, check Use secure WebSocket (TLS) and try 2 and 3 again. Different result?

* Could you connect with/without TLS?
* Could you send messages with/without TLS?
* Could you receive messages with/without TLS?

Tested Anti-virus programs so far

LATEST version available and DEFAULT settings if not stated otherwise:

Comodo Internet Security 2011 Pro
Works.
Works also with advanced, more strict, settings such as Custom Policy chosen in Firewall settings and/or "Do protocol analysis" enabled.

Microsoft Security Essentials
Works

Norton Antivirus
Reported by users to work. Not tested by Battlelog developers.

Avast
* Avast Free Antivirus works
* Avast Pro Antivirus works
* Avast Internet Security works if web shield is disabled/stopped.

Reported to work with web shield on if you add Battlelog to the list of exceptions in the web shield. Make sure you use a asterisk at the end.
Example: *battlelog.battlefield.com/*

Also reported to work if you go into the settings and check the box "Scan known processes only". Then everything else can be left on.

Ask Avast why they block legit websocket connections here:
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=2.0 [forum.avast.com]

AVG
Works
Older versions block websocket connections. Upgrade!

Bitdefender
Receiving events works (with our automatic SSL workaround)
Sending chat messages etc might fail due to javascript injects by Bitdefender.

Problem:
Bitdefender injects javascript code into the page which interfere with Battlelog code.
Bitdefender blocks legit websocket connections on port 80 but accepts websocket connections using SSL.

Battlelog is forced to use SSL connections for websockets to work around the issue with receiving events.

Ask Bitdefender why they block legit websocket connections and inject javascripts that interfere with Battlelog code here:
http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showforum=243 [forum.bitdefender.com]

If you use advanced settings, make sure to disable Scan SSL
If you have problems and are using version 2010 or 2011, try upgrading to the latest version. It is free of charge. See this url: http://www.bitdefender.com/support/How-to-Upgrade-from-BitDefender-2009-2010-2011-to-BitDefender-2012-711.html [bitdefender.com]

Users have reported that turning these features off makes Battlelog work with Bitdefender:
* bitdefender toolbar
* search advisor
* protection against fraud
* protection against instant messaging

Update from Bitdefender: New version out.
http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=28172&st=0&p=124814&#entry124814 [forum.bitdefender.com]
Let us know if you still experience problems with the latest version.

Kaspersky
Works but we have reports about it blocking websocket connections. Update on this coming as soon as more testing has been made.

ESET NOD32
Works but you might need to turn off "advanced integration"

Trend Micro Internet Security
Works

Vipre Antivirus
Not tested by the Battlelog team, but a user reports that the "Bad Website Filtering" setting is making Battlelog not function properly, and can be disabled without disabling your anti virus or fire wall. Another user reports that full disabling of Vipre is the only working solution right now.

Other programs known to cause problems

Internet Download Manager
Plugin/addon for firefox that interferes with normal web connections and cause websocket connections to receive broken or no data.
We are working on a getting a work-around out to detect this plugin and prevent it from sending rubbish on websocket connections.
