ARMA / Arma III Alpha
March 19, 2013, 07:16:28 PM
Quote from: Tutonic;368832Timmer - it's nothing like Battlefield, but singleplayer doesn't really show off the best that the game has to offer. Arma is at it's best when you're using teamwork with your buddies to complete an objective, it's not a great game to play 'lone wolf' style.

If you jump into a game with some of the more experienced players, we can guide you through the basics in no time. Just give one of us a shout on Steam and we'll be happy to show you the ropes :)

In order to join you guys, I'd have to fork out £19.99 for the proper Alpha on a game I just can't see myself playing. Thanks though.

ARMA / Arma III Alpha

I had hoped to play this with a 360 controller but with all the key bindings that doesn't look likely.

I don't feel I'm really "getting" it anyway at the moment. The single player mission has someone shouting out stuff like "enemy 100 yards west" yet I can't see anything and just get shot by invisible enemies. My team mates keep disappearing. I keep dying.

I was wrongly expecting something more like Battlefield.

I don't mean any of that as a negative, just that I don't think I'm going to be able to get into it.

Quote from: Dingo;368816Just got the 380's having come from the DSP400's................number of things.....these are great, and at £20 are a complete bargain for a cost conscious gamer.............I haven't had closed ear cups for as long as I can remember so I am not a great fan BUT.......credit where it's due.....the sound quality is extremely good at the price point and surprisingly (for me) they are entirely comfortable after six hours of wear......................I still want to be a Naturist and order another set of the 400's.......but if you like your cups enclosed and don't want to be a audio naturist with your ears hanging out.....then these are fantastic value!!  :)

I read the 380s were open cup as I was all ready to order a pair weeks ago before reading that. I'll have to look at them again. Any sound leakage from them at reasonable volumes ?

Thanks Sparko for the invite. Downloaded but haven't tried it yet. As long as it runs smoothly enough, I'll pick up the full Alpha and offer my invites in here.

Around the 40 mark would be my max. Less would be better.

Could someone please recommend a headset for me. All I am looking for is as cheap as possible and closed cup. I.e. minimum sound leakage. If they also worked with ps3 that would be a bonus but not essential.

Quote from: Sparko;368744If you add me to your steam friends i can send you one, steam name is sparko501

Yes, You can still get Alpha for £19.99 if i send you the lite version.  Remember though that once you have alpha you have access to the beta and the full version too so its very worth it.

Yes, i believe you will get the 3 lite steam gifts too as its a 'perk' for buying the alpha version.

If you need any help with anything in general with the game give me a nudge on steam if im around :)

Thanks. Can't find your Steam Id though. Says no search results.

Edit: nevermind.  found via dmw group.

If there is an invite going, I'd love one. If it then runs fine can I still then buy the Alpha for 19.99? If so I assume I'll then have 3 invites to post on here. I'd just rather see for myself how it runs on my Pc first.

What server and faction are you playing on? I've read through this thread but I'm not sure unless I missed it.

Thanks to you both.

I may well take a look at CS Go. I played the demo on console but it was quite laggy. I've heard the PC version is much better. I'm a huge Socom fan on Playstation and although this is fps it seems the closest thing to it on PC.
