I was going to recommend my sennheiser pc350's, but I had a look and they're £130!
I paid £100 for mine over 2 years ago and they are still like new.
The sound is amazing, I can hear you ******* yourself from halfway across a map!
Once, I even HEARD Tutonic sneer, he didn't say anything, he just sneered, and I heard it.
I thought the price may have come down in 2 years, but no.

Tox bought some the other day that he reckons are good, look further up this thread.

Don't bother with medusa or any clones of them, the sound is good but the build quality is awful  and THEY WILL SNAP! (in the same place as everybody else who has owned a set)

The Siberia V2 headset is superb, and comes in at just under £60. Highly recommended.

Could someone please recommend a headset for me. All I am looking for is as cheap as possible and closed cup. I.e. minimum sound leakage. If they also worked with ps3 that would be a bonus but not essential.

I have just purchased Plantronics Gamecom 780 which is £40, reading the reviews they say it punches in above it's weight. should be getting them tomorrow..

Had a little incident with my last purchased, I went over the cord with the hoover and it's in a pretty bad shape
