all should be good now, the switch is a lot happier with the adjusted storm control values.

and the firewall is much better with the dark theme too ;)

ok, checked the router that's the last hop before, (77.108.131.7) and nothing in the logs there so that's all fine.

So, checked the switch and I'm seeing some broadcast storms occurring which is shutting the uplink ports down. So for now, tweaked the levels a little as they were a little conservative while I find out what device on that switch is causing it!

Just having a look and yes,    77.108.135.2 is the firewall that's hosted on BA5.

I've just logged on and it's running a strange version for x64. It's like it's running the 32 bit version but it's a 64 bit CPU! Still checking but it may be worth a backup of the firewall and rebuild from scratch.

Now to remember the vm details....

Veeam endpoint backup is free and works well. Been using it for a few months now, though not tried a restore yet (no time!) but it's easy to use and you can create a recovery ISO and store the backup on an external drive.

Counter-Strike / Ping issues!

If all servers then most likely your ISP.

To diagnose run pingplotter or equivalent to your favourite servers while you play to record the latency of all hops between you and the servers. Then you'll have a better idea of where the issue lies.

Actually upload on VM is worse than that. I'm on business 155Mb and while I can get 155Mb down all day long, there's only two of the four channels available for upload so my upload speeds, on a good day are 12 Mb, but usually around 10Mb.

VM Cable are awful for uploads. Also, no static IP, but as I work in the industry, I have ways around that with the magic of IP tunneling, etc so not a problem for me, but may be for you!

It's my Birthday! / Quadcopters anyone?

I have to say the station keeping and gimbal on the calendar is superb. It was quite a windy day on the day I took that video. Not too much that you can't fly, but enough that a normal copter would be blown off station very quickly!

Here's an idea of the quality of the video. It's only 2.7K on the advanced. The Professional is the one with the 4K camera. Stills are 12MP.

We've just purchased a Phantom 3 Advanced for aerial surveys at work and it's fantastic! Had great fun flying at the local park at the weekend to get a feel for it.

Really stable platform for aerial photography too and with the ability to shoot in RAW and also the ability to bracket shots too makes it more than just a toy.

Technology Section / Which POE "injector"?
March 11, 2016, 11:08:20 AM
For cheapness, these work fine: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007Q87KP2?keywords=poe%20injector&qid=1457693987&ref_=sr_1_7&sr=8-7

For industrial grade, google "phihong poe injector". They're not cheap, but they will last and last. These are what we use.

Yeah, that day was a right pain. Causing random mysql connection issues so I squished those nasty little spiders with the firewall.
