I just find it refreshing to see that some of us have limits.

There will be a lot of empty crew seats in our fleet for you to fill :D

The Shipyard / Javelin?

It was mostly to satisfy my collector's itch, to be honest.  That and it would have been fun to have something to work towards.  However, I think crewing even one of our two Idris or three Polaris will be a challenge enough.  Besides, we all have our own ships we want to fly too.  Weirdly enough, I also didn't want to make my Idris 'second best' - I love that ship!

I feel good about the decision :D

Well, I was up and down a lot with this one, but eventually saw sense and cancelled it. We have two Idris in this org. We don't need a javelin! It will never get flown ;)

Quote from: Obsydian;419750Well, while I tempted to egg you on to press the Buy button, I feel duty bound to say that from what I've heard, it's going to cost an absolute fortune just to get a Javelin operational as they come without any turrets or guns or weapons of any kind, and that would probably bankrupt us as an org.

That said, it would give us something to focus on and a real reason to mine, scavenge, explore and salvage...

That's actually the main reason why I want one. I have si many other ships that I've kind of screwed myself out of a game to play. There's not very much for me to work towards.

The idea of us all having some huge destroyer to refit together is extremely appealing.

I think I will. If I can sell my spare polaris, plus my reclaimer and hull c, it won't be that bad.

The Shipyard / My first cargo load.....sort of.

Quote from: Obsydian;419334It's currently undergoing a rework and redesign at CIG and should be big enough to fit a Dragonfly in once they've finished.  I have also heard that the docking ring is being removed.  I hope that's not so because it's one of the reasons I bought one them as well.

I suspect that if it's removed, it's because it's become obsolete after a rework of some system or another...

I went cutlass red, because I figure people will always pay to have their limbs stuck back on.

Hey there!

Yeah, LTI is just for collectors really (like me).  I'm sure it'll be nice to have in the game, but as albert said - it's not going to be expensive to insure your ship in game.  One thing to note though - while you can buy back any packages you exchange for store credits (or 'melt'), you can only buy them back with real money.  Store credit can only be used on items from the official shop.

If LTI means a lot to you, then look out for any new cheap concept ships.  New concept ships will always have LTI the first time they go on sale, so you can use those as a base for any upgrades.  That way, you take your cheap LTI ship, add some money with an upgrade, then you have your more expensive LTI ship.

One ship I bought several of for this reason is the P72 Archemedes.  It's a tiny ship, intended to be carried by the Constellation Phoenix.  I already have this as part of my own Constellation, but I use them as an 'LTI token' to upgrade from.

Complicated, I know!  I would be happy to sell you one - I would need to pay £23.40 to get it back, so if you wanted to have it, you can get it from me at cost.

Quote from: Obsydian;418472Didn't see that before.  I can't find a link to it on any of the other pages, so how did you get to it?  Perhaps this is an up-coming feature?

That's weird.  Maybe it was removed?  I would have removed it if I were them.

The Shipyard / Polaris Corvette - VIP Pre-Sale

The more I look at it, the more I want to keep both.

I don't know why.  I think it's because one is in the Air Wing, which makes all of those ships an excellent deal.  The other one has a HULL NUMBER.  So you see, I can't melt either.

Interestingly, I've been able to recover my Crucible by CCU-ing the Retaliator in my Air Wing.  I really don't like the Retaliator.  Then I CCU'd the Gladiator to another sabre, so I could melt my separate one.  Then I CCU'd the 315p in my Exploration pack into another F7C-M, so I could melt my separate one.  Then CCU'd the dragonfly in the Exploration pack (I already have a yellowjacket) into a cutlass red.  Long story short, I have most of my ships back, trimmed the ships I didn't like or need, and now I have a pile of credit again.  Just need my Reclaimer back and I'll be set.

My favourite page is the map.

It has no 'new' information on it.  It's a world map, which tells you country names.  No information on number of citizens, etc.  It's just a map of the world, for no reason at all.

Ha ha! Of course! Isn't that the point of an org?

Obsydian has one too, so there should be plenty of opportunity.

Quote from: Obsydian;418338Haven't seen The Expanse yet, unfortunately (still not available in the UK and I don't like messing about with IP spoofing etc.).  Read the book though, and thought it was fantastic!

The books are brilliant, right?  I'm in the UK too, I watched it on Blueray :D  It doesn't look much like their ship, but it's got the same vibe :D
