CULTIVATING THE CORN    - C O M P L E T E D -

Description:
The newest rejuvenation project to hit the OLD World has been announced, and this time it's the Green Party of Diso who have stepped up to the challenge of making its home a pleasant (and profitable) place to live.

As most traders are well aware, Diso is famous for its Diso Ma Corn. A hearty, healthy, tasty plant, that covers itself in a light dust which when snorted produces an intense but brief feeling of contentment and wellbeing. Currently, Diso Ma Corn can only be (cost-effectively) grown on the planet of Birmingham. This is due to a unique collection of nutrients found in the planet’s soil, combined with the near-constant bombardment of the planet by solar waves being ejected from Diso itself.

Now the Green Party of Diso is hoping to capitalise on its unique cash crop by increasing the output of Birmingham’s Ma Corn plantations. To do that, the Green Party has placed orders to the tune of 15 million tonnes worth of Machinery, in particular the Green Party are interest in purchasing a large quantity of Atmospheric Processors, Crop Harvesters, Power Generators and Water Purifiers.

System: Diso
Station: Birmingham
Objective: Sell Machinery to Birmingham

Entry-level Type-6 it is then... I will probably wait until the latter stages of this current community warzone event, in case I get a nice payout and can improve on the fit-out. Thanks all.

I'm looking into investing in some kind of trade ship in order to speed up my money-making (first 'stretch goal' being the Vulture). I currently have about 2 million credits, and selling the Viper is not really an option I am looking at right now, so here are two fit-outs I can afford (and insure), and also leave me with some money to buy the first round of commodities:

Link: Cobra Transporter | Fuel: 16T | Cargo: 52T | Laden Jump: 17LY | Cost: 1 million
Could add a shield generator for the loss of 16T of cargo.

Link: Type-6 Transporter | Fuel: 16T | Cargo: 72T |Laden Jump: 17LY | Cost: 1.7 million
Could add a shield generator for a loss of 8T of cargo.

So... is the extra 700k worth it to carry an extra 20T of cargo? Thoughts on the builds?

Woah... I'm so naive. How on earth is it possible to cheat in that fashion? More to the point, how can someone be dumb enough to overcook it so much and make it that obvious? ;)

Anyway, thanks for your help last night guys... after the game finally let me be in the same instanced area -.-

Flew down during my lunch break (benefits of being able to work from home sometimes) and claimed a few scalps as a warm-up... but yeah i need to remember to check if the targets are 'winged up' as they seem to be scripted to ignore NPCs and focus fire on a player the moment you attack :D

Quote from: ArithonUK;397950If you get your FrameShift drive upgraded to allow jumps of 19Lyr, you could make it in 6 or 7, but until you've got the funds for a Viper or Cobra, I would not advise engaging in combat missions until you've got spare cash on hand. Don't risk what you cannot afford to lose! Always fly insured and never sell your shields to make room for something else.

No problem, I have a Viper and about 1.1 million credits... it will mostly depend on how intense the warzones are... I've been dabbling in them around Duamta, and provided I am sensible in picking my targets away from the bulk of the combat, I am ok against cobras and other vipers. I'll leave the anacondas to you big guns :D

These community goals sound interesting! Will see  how far away I am...

Edit: Holy spaceballs, 125LY away... actually that is probably only about 14-15 jumps.

Hi all

I'm your latest stray which Arithon picked up off of the Elite Dangerous forums ;)

A little bit about Khalen:
Khalen (some say Kay-len, others say Kal-en... I really don't mind) is a name I have been using for several years, since I underwent a bit of a 'rebirth' in WOW, switching from Alliance to Horde at the last stages of the Burning Crusade. I created and ran a semi-hardcore raiding guild on Argent Dawn for a while before quitting about 2-3 years ago. I was nicknamed Jack Bauer by the raid team... I hoped it was affectionate but I suspect it was due to my hardass raid leading and drive to success even if it destroys me... which it eventually did ;)
My real name is Pete, I live in Buckinghamshire, I'm 35 years old and getting married this August to my wonderful Swedish fiancee who incidentally I met in WOW about 7 years ago. I work in the Architecture industry, specializing in CAD and 3D design of education institutions and retail/banking.
I'm a bit of an otaku I'm afraid... can't shake off the anime addiction. I also love to read and think Brandon Sanderson is probably the best fantasy author alive right now.

My 'Elite' Experience
I've been playing E-D for about a week now and have amassed a 'mighty' Viper and about 1.1 million credits, mostly from bounties and conflict zones. It should be noted that this is in fact my first ever flight sim type of game... the main reason being I am a lefty, and its extremely hard to find peripherals to suit my cack-handed ways. As such I stared enviously at Elite since the kickstarter days, having remembered playing the original on my dad's 286 many moons ago. Then I found this Thrustmaster T16000M joystick which can be converted out of the box for lefties and I made the plunge.
My main goal at the moment is to get a Vulture... it looks like a flying brick and I want to ram it through some enemy cockpits. As a general rule, I prefer PvE co-operative play... I'm not a big PvPer although I have been known to dabble.

Other games on the go atm:
Diablo 3 (late starter on this, just got a Crusader up to around Torment II level)
Heroes of the Storm (this is me 'dabbling' in a little PvP)
GTA 5 - Am about 40-50% into the story mode right now
Far Cry 4
Pillars of Eternity
Dragon Age: Inquistion

I was also pretty addicted to co-op Borderlands 2... not so much the pre-sequel though.

My rig, in case it is important:
I recently rebuilt it after my last mobo melted...
Mobo: Asus Maximus VII Hero
CPU: i7 4790K
RAM: 32GB
GPU: Gigabyte G1 GTX-980

Hoping to upgrade from 60hz 1080p to 144hz 1440p soon, but wedding plans are setting me back dagnabit!

SteamID: Khalen
Battle.net ID: ArdentLoony

Anyway, enough ranting from me, I look forward to flying with you guys in Elite, and who knows, maybe team up in some other games. Please feel free to send friend requests to my Steam and/or battle.net IDs.
