Prism Senator Summoned to Achenar
Senator Kahina Tijani Loren’s Imperial Courier was seen departing early morning local time from the Avalon shipyards. It rendezvoused with The Imperial Interdictor Atticus, Admiral Brice last known to be in command.

The convoy is believed to be enroute to the Achenar system.

According to the Imperial Herald, Senator Loren is “being hailed as a true daughter of the Empire, and assigned the rights and responsibilities as appropriate to her rank.”

Quite what this means is not clear, even to seasoned Imperial watchers.

Senator Loren’s political leanings are even less clear. She is reportedly in favour of slavery, having been quoted as saying “Slavery is a safety net, it ensures nobody can starve or fall into poverty.”

She is also clearly prepared to use violence to achieve her aims â€" as revolutionaries on her home world of Prism were summarily executed after she returned to power.

By contrast she seems to be in favour of closer political ties with the Federation and the Alliance. Her recent trip to the Sol system was either a carefully orchestrated political gambit, or just happy chance. Either way, her positive profile with in the Federation is certainly a factor.

Senator Loren was involved in a wide-spread space battle during the reclamation of the Prism, which may have influenced her views on the effectiveness and desirability of major naval engagements

Description:
The newest rejuvenation project to hit the OLD World has been announced, and this time it's the Green Party of Diso who have stepped up to the challenge of making its home a pleasant (and profitable) place to live.

As most traders are well aware, Diso is famous for its Diso Ma Corn. A hearty, healthy, tasty plant, that covers itself in a light dust which when snorted produces an intense but brief feeling of contentment and wellbeing. Currently, Diso Ma Corn can only be (cost-effectively) grown on the planet of Birmingham. This is due to a unique collection of nutrients found in the planet’s soil, combined with the near-constant bombardment of the planet by solar waves being ejected from Diso itself.

Now the Green Party of Diso is hoping to capitalise on its unique cash crop by increasing the output of Birmingham’s Ma Corn plantations. To do that, the Green Party has placed orders to the tune of 15 million tonnes worth of Machinery, in particular the Green Party are interest in purchasing a large quantity of Atmospheric Processors, Crop Harvesters, Power Generators and Water Purifiers.

We have at 78 Ursae Majoris 14,000Ls out at Townshend Hub, there are two community goals.

(1) Sign up to kill wanted folk in the system. Very profitable, as you get the usual high bounty AND a big fat pat cheque at the end of it.
(2) Sign up to fight in the conflict zone near Townshend, killing Sobek Boys for Alioth Independents. Lower bounty, but many more targets. All the ducks in one place.

I've signed up for both. Why take one mission into the air-lock, when you can shoot-n-go?

Excitement is in the air in 78 Ursae Majoris, as millions of residents  have begun preparing Seddon Gateway for the arrival of Federal President  Jasmina Halsey. The exact date of the President’s arrival has yet to be  announced, but residents haven’t let that stop them from arranging a  week of festivities and cultural displays aboard the station.

Another group preparing for the President’s visit is the Alioth  Independents, who have today announced that they will be launching an  initiative to increase security in the local cluster ahead of President  Halsey’s visit.

Andrew Bailey, the Mayor of Townsend Hub and local leader of the Alioth Independents had this to say about the new initiative:

“We are very conscious that once President Halsey arrives, the whole  galaxy will have its eyes on our little system. 78 Ursae Majoris has  been nothing but peaceful and productive since electing to join the  Alliance and the Alioth Independents will do everything in our power to  ensure it remains that way throughout the President’s visit.”

“Firstly, we will be running a cluster wide security campaign from  Townsend Hub. As part of which, agents of the Alioth Independents will  be offering a range of bonuses to bounty hunters who help clear out any  unruly criminal elements in the sector.”

“Secondly, members of the Alioth Independents and our allies will be  launching a military campaign to finally rid the cluster of the criminal  cartel known as the Sobek Boys. Military capable Commanders interested  in assisting with the campaign can likewise signup for active duty  aboard Townsend Hub.”

Description:
President Halsey is planning to arrive any day now, and it's important that hervisit goes off without a hitch.

Acting under advisement of Alliance Prime Minister Edmund Mahon, Mayor Bailey has ordered an increase in security throughout the sector, until such time as the President has passed out of Alliance space.

To help facilitate the increased security requirements, Pilots Federation members in good standing are being asked to assist Alliance law enforcement officers in their duties. As an incentive, the Allioth Independents are offering a bonus reward scheme which is open to all eligible pilots who sign up to act as deputies during this tense time.

Description:
The nearby region of Sobek, home to the infamous Sobek Boys, has long been a hotbed of criminal activity.

Mayor Bailey is concerned that the Sobek Boys may try to make some kind of move when President Halsey comes to visit the region, as such ha has authorised members of the Alioth Independents and their allies to end the Sobek Boys reign of terror once and for all.

ECONOMIC ARMAMENTS

Description:
The Wolf 406 Transport Co is pleased to announce the formation of a new partnership with Lakon Spaceway. The deal, which will see Hamilton Gateway become one of the largest producers of the local economy.

There is however, one small problem. Lakon Spaceways has insisted that the shipyards aboard Hamilton Gateway be made for large scale production within the next two weeks, or else the deal will be off.

If the Lakon contract is lost, other recently acquired contracts may also come under threat. As such, the Wolf 406 Transport Co Corporation is currently offering a number of bonuses to any pilots who can help supply the Metals needed for the ongoing refurbishment effort.

Description:
Federal pilots and trusted allies, today we call on you to assist the Azaleach Partnership in the search for Starship One.

One last contact with the President came from the XX system, just 75 light years from our current position. Unfortunately, information provided by the Sirius Corporation and Core Dynamics suggests that Starship One could now be anywhere within at least a 200 light year radius of Azaleach.

Until such time as we have received confirmation that the President is alive and well, all search and rescue teams are being asked to thoroughly inspect every system in the sector. Any relevant scan data should be delivered to the search co-ordinators at the Universal Cartographic station aboard Leoniceno Orbital. It is hoped that Universal Cartographic will be able to use any anomalies that may have appeared since the last scan of the area to determine the whereabouts of Starship One.

For community goals like these, do you multi-ship owning moguls keep one outfitted for exploring/scanning or do you just slap on a better scanner module as and when its needed? I imagine with modules now selling at a loss that it'd happen less. Its a shame you can't warehouse modules/weapons like you can ships.

They reversed that decision about making modules depreciate in value by 10% on sale for the time being. Wasn't so popular with the masses it seems.

I think warehousing parts would be awesome. There is a work around for that, buy a ship and equip on it all the parts you commonly use. Park it a a station you call home and when you need a part, swap ships in the shipyard, sell the part off your spares and repair ship and then when you swap back to your original ship you can still buy the part back.

For most missions i just use the Anaconda, esp for combat/trade

For exploration i had an asp, but i vendored it and bought a Dropship.. for rep grinding...i sold that today, so i have a fairly healthy bank balance.. although we`ll be waiting to see just what else the mission provides (15% off the asking price of the asp).
I could fit the Anaconda out for exploration (strip it down) to gain ++ jump distance, and have a class 5 fuel scoop for a quick refil, but exploration is ...not that exciting unless some pirates decide you look tasty..
