DMR Members Only / Raid 25-05-10
May 26, 2010, 05:14:51 PM
I can understand that there would be a lower attendance now with exams going for some ppl, and that will ofc halt the progress. So with a full raid of the normal raiders the blood queen should have been dead.

But lower then 6k dps is realy not good. With my gear im at 6.5k DPS in ICC10 man most of the fights, and i aint got that good gear. And ppl do need to stay alive yes. If u are low on attendance and need caster dps let me know, id be happy to help out.

Quote from: DFE;311001Geez, I just looked at Divine Hymn spell description. It is not enough that those filthy healers have almost automated their job with healbot but they have also spell that automatically picks several lowest health targets and lands a big heal, four times in a row, wow! DPS version of this spell would be: Pick automatically the most dangerous add(s), stun it (them) and obliterate :)

nah that would make it to easy to play a lock :P

Just wanted to come with a coment on what i noticed on the logs from the fight.

Some ppl have insane amount of DPS and others have almost 1/3 of top dps. Ofc there are difrence in gear, but it should not be so much. What it the reason for someone doing 1/3 of the dps from trick?

If the dps would be more even and the ppl with lower dps get it higher this would def be a kill from you guys. And any particular reason you guys have 8 druids and 5 pallys in the raid? Only 1 rouge, 1 hunter and so on. In Sora we had at least 2 rouges and 2-3 hunters as they did realy good dps alround on all fights. And i could only see 1 priest as well doing anything yesterday.

Is the raid group abit unbalanced?

So if you get the DPS up on the ones not doing above 10k dps you will def kill here asap.

i know sheepy, but there has mainly been a 10 man progress run, and then maybe another 10 man run. Last week i got into a 10 man run but it was saved at blood princess. But id like to start from the bottom each week and progress up. So that's why id like to start up a permanent 2nd 10 man raid each week, and progress to kill the LK.

So i was wondering what the intrest would be for a permanent 2nd 10 man ICC raid each week. As i will be one of the ones organizing it in the future with someone that has lead both 40 man raids and other raids before :)

Im hoping to get a 10 man ICC run together tonight.

Hello ppl

Im wondering if ppl are up for a 10 man icc run tonight and monday evening? Ive been talking with another member that i know pretty well, and raided with in Sora, about running 10 mans with him in the future. But would like to see more of ICC and learn the encouters abit better before i get on the task. I have some experience in running 10 mans from Karazhan, but it's a while ago. So will need to freshen up on my skillz ;)

If any of the current RL want to help out, i would apriciate it. Maybe one would like to join tonight and give some tips and pointers.

Im hoping this will be a regulary thing going every wensday, friday and mondays in the future.

Quote from: TeaLeaf;309794Indeed, which as explained is normal practice, but Walrob asked specifically so was answered - and at that point the typical member does not normally get abusive to officers and throw their toys out of the pram.

Agreed, after raiding with Sora in TBC i know all too well how a hardcore raiding guild does there planning on bosses and so on. Now i was fortunate to be one of first two then three locks in the guild. So a spot was almost always a sure thing. But for certain bosses locks was a no go. And we would hafto rotate who did what. If u where not needed someone would let you know and you where requierd to stay in a few minutes distance to the instance incase you where needed for next boss or the boss after that.

When we raided with Silver Oak Guardians it was a diffrent story, we had a rather large raid group and at one point i think we had something like 6-7 locks. So there where always someone that would need to sit out. And as far as i know everyone would be happy with the roatation cycle. And if you had the loot from a certain boss, you would give the spot to someone in your class so that they would have a chance on getting it on that boss.

It's all about seeing the big picture, what benefits the raid groups progress, and helps other raid members to gear up and what fight can you handle and what fight do you need to practice on. Most of the time the lower geard, more inexperienced player would sit out on the "new" bosses and join in if needed or when the boss is downd and the group knows what to do. So that they can learn the person that don't know that encounter.

But in general, the raid leaders do what they think are the best for the raid group. And yes the class leader will hafto inform ppl if they are sitting out or not. But they do shuffle around on the setup, so dont worry if you get into the dreaded group 7 ;)

Now after doing 2 ICC 10 man raids i think can say that the raid leaders do know what they are doing, and are not unfair. But i could be wrong.

Vargen the officers in SoG where just amazing, best i have ever come across ;)

Quote from: DFE;309598JT, I am sorry if you disagree but there are some steps in gearing up and you simply cant expect anybody will eagerly literally drag you through ICC 10 when most of your gear would be upgraded in Naxxramas.
You cant even remotely compare it to "drag" people in blues through Karazhan because that means they were "skipping" only half a tier. That would be rather like dragging you through Naxxramas.

To be clear, I am not one of those GS d**kheads, I dont even have that addon. Also, you will never hear from me anything about low geared (as opposed to wrong geared) people in heroics - heroics are there to gear people up.

But I would NEVER write on guild forum that I have been denied to be dragged through content three tiers higher than I should be doing. Seriously JT, why shoudnt you do it like anyone else has been doing it - grind heroics, get 232 gear from them and buy 245 gear and tier gear for emblems. If you were denied in THAT gear, then you should ask "Why?". But not now.

Sorry that I abstracted from skills in my post - I am aware that they are great factor in performance - but you are not going to beat Deathwhisper berserk timer in blue ilvl200 gear.

I don't disagree, it's more of a ppl wanted a guild run. Yes it might be tough and will make ppl learn. But i do understand the issue about gear. Now the thing is to get into those instances where you can get the gear. And as i can't see the guild running Naxx 10/25 runs as ppl don't want them what is a bloke supposed to do. PUG 25 man eh well.

Maybe we should put together a 10/25 man run in a instances lower then ICC for ppl wanting to gear up there alts and for my main as ive been "afk" since Lich king came out ;)

I have no plans on going for the 25 man raid group, id just want to get in on the 10 man and maybe go for a guild 25 man run outside of the ICC runs.

But i see it now, il just hafto grind grind and grind some more ;)

DMR Members Only / ICC10 Sign-ups 05-05-10

Id like to chime in abit here on 10 mans.

As a pertty "old" raider who has raided from MC to BT/Hyjal and some in SP. They way the 10 mans was sorted before was that raid leaders would splitt into 2 groups and lead the raid. One group would most of the time go further or faster. This was for the raid group to gear up and get the gear they needed from the 10 man. For Karazhan we ran 10 mans 2-3 times a week, with a 4 and 5 day 25 man raiding group. We had a group of about 30+ raiders and some ofc had to sit out. But we rotated on it, letting the less geard ppl in on the easier fights. And then where a class was needed we had them in. This way the group got pretty fast geard up.

It's pointless to have a 10 man group where all has the gear needed from the first let's say 5 bosses. When you got ppl who need the gear from there.

Yesterday i got an invite for ICC 10 man, and i got a response not with that gear. As my GS was 4k at that time, gone up alittle now ;) I know gear means alot, but you need to start somewhere. We dragged trough ppl in Karazhan with only blues before i remember.

I think ppl think that gearscore ways too much, it should not. I was in a HC last night and got in a group with ppl that had 5k+ GS and i was top DPS with 4k GS. It's alot about how you play your charactar and if you are good at it.

So let the lower geard ppl in to the 10 mans. Maybe do a lower lvl 10 man then ICC, but i guess ppl just want to do ICC. Ok you might not get as far the first weeks, but as ppl gear up ul get further and further.

As a "newb" in the guild, and for not been here too long i hope ppl don't get offended for my oppinions. But i hope the officers and raid leaders think about running the runs for ppl that do not have as good gear either. And perhaps for ppl that don't want to get locked in another 10 man just cause they might get into the lich king kill group later. What will you do if you don't get in. Maybe help out and get another group up to that lvl of gear. Where they are able to kill the lich king perhaps in 10 man?

It will def help out the 25 man group as well. As they will have more ppl to choose from. And would not need help from another guild to progress.

This got abit longer then i expected but hey ;)

Just my 2 cents

DMR Members Only / Raiding Eligibility Questions
April 11, 2010, 11:57:41 PM
As a verry old timer when it comes to raiding id like to chip in a few words.

Back in the day of vanila wow, when we had MC, BL and so on. We would get days with alot of ppl raiding. At one point we had 2 raid groups in SoG. 1 "hardcore" social group and one not so "hardcore" social group. At that time we had about 120 active raiders if im not mistaken, TL might chip in about this. At that time i was one off the "Vetran" locks in the guild and ofc i would be chosen to be in the raid as we where aiming to kill nefarian. But as a big group we would hafto rotate our spots so that everyone got to raid. Did it slow our progress, no i don't think so, cause the group was leaded by some verry good raid leaders.

Now after a whil TBC came and Raid group 1 got sort of disbanded as members joined other guilds. I joined Sora 1 week after it was created with members from Anything and Rigtheous. Now that was a hardcore raid guild. Raiding 4-5 days a week, always stacking up on pots, always pushing hard from 1930 to 2330 on every raid day. We had 3-5 extra ppl in the raid group, but we where all requierd to show up on each raid night. If you could not show up then you had to let your class leader know asap. And it was tough, whiping and pushing. But it payed out, Hyjal and BT was cleared in good time and made the guild one of the better ones in europe.

Now Sunwell Platau hit and we started on that, we had lost a few raid members and gotten new ones. Not all had done much in Hyjal and BT and we did not progress as fast as ppl wanted. At this time my intrest in the game started to fade so i asked to be taken out of the raid group. 2 months later the guild disbanded due to ppl not focusing.

I for one think the reason why it happend was ppl got tierd of raiding too much, and did not have a wide enough raid group. If we raid a 25 man dungeon then you should have a raid group consisting of 35-40 players that will rotate on the raiding. This is doable and will give ppl 2/3 raid days or maybe you can only raid 1 day this week then so be it. Others can take that raid spot.

The raid leaders know what they are doing, are they pushing for a kill ofc the want to have the ppl with the best gear and the ppl that have done the encounter the most times there. But everyone needs to learn it at some point if they are in the raid group. And don't give up, ever :)

My first raid day was some scary ****, a green and blue warlock was invited into MC for the first time ever, think we where on Sulfron at that time. Well i started off by dying after the 2nd pull or something, and ended up almost beating Kreuz record for most deaths. For those who do not know who Kreuz is, he is a human mage.

So just stay with the program, talk to your class leader and raise your concerns there. And ask for a rotating system.

You

Who are you?  Jan-Tore

Where are you from? Norway ofcourse ;)

How old are you? 31 im afraid so quite old, but not as old as TL ;)

What kind of work do you do? IT

What's your situation at home like? Live alone ;)

What kind of internet connection do you have? ADSL2+

What are the core specs of your computer? So far and old one from back when playing TBC ;)

How long have you been playing computer games and what kind? Since i got my first one when i was 13

What kind of raiding experience do you have? From MC to Full TBC

What other guilds have you been in and why did you decide or were forced to move on? Silver Oak Guardians and Sora

Do you actively play any alts that we could find you in in case we need to contact you? Nope leveling up my Warlock

If you are a cross-server applicant, name someone from your home server that can vouch for you.

What are your plans for the game?  For now to get a new "home" for my lock. Playing casual lvl'ing up.

In what way would you like others to know you? As a nice and gentel Warlock(yeah right as that could ever happen) ;)

Tell us about your personality, and why you enjoy the game. Just started up playing again after 17 months of "vacation", so not that back into it. But im a allaround player, play well in team with others.

Name one thing you don't like about WoW in its current state. Have not found it yet.

Your character

Please link to your armory profile. http://armory.wow-europe.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Aszune&cn=Jantore

If your armory does not show your intended spec then please make a template of it and link it.

Why did you decide to play this class? Cause locks rule ;) Joking aside, it was the class that apeeled the most to me, and i know i decided on the right class :)

What do you think your class' role is in raid content? DPS/Support it's all up to the class/raid leader

Comment on your build. Why did you choose it? Affliction has been the build i have always liked. It's selfsustaining, and if you watch your self you will survive no matter what.
What do you think of other builds of your class? well
Why didn't you choose one of those? (important question)so far just leveling, and i respec to the class needed for me when raiding.

This guild

What do you look for in a guild? Freindly people that i can "live" with inside wow. Chat with, have fun with and so on.

''Dead Men Raiding'' - What comes to mind when you see that guild name? Dead People Raiding ;) Well it's been apart of SOG since we almost started, and i have been a member on this board for a while now. And i do know a few ppl here.

There are other guilds on the server, why did you apply to us? Cause of old SOG members, good to have familiar "faces" to chat with and play with :)

Who do you know in Dead Men Raiding? TL, Sheepy, Tanales, Sokhar, Deadulus, Dillinja, Lunares, Strontiumdog, Marduk, Saori, Azunai, Padding, Spiritus and alot more from SOG ;)

How do you know them? From SOG :)

Have you read our 'what we look for' and 'philosophy' posts? yes

What do you think of them? They are how they should be, im not looking to fill any raid spots. When i get to lvl 80 and you guys need a player and im online il join. If i get to the point of wanting to raid, il aply for a raid spot.

Annoying questions

A guildie says something you find offensive, what do you do? Ignore it most of time. Might say that it's offensive, if he continues il let him know the next time im gonna report him to an officer. Nothing more nothing less.

Cake or Pie? Still undicided
