OK, if you're having trouble getting Steam to work, this should help:
This file includes the full cache of data required to run Half-Life v1.1.2.0 and Counter-Strike v1.6 in the Steam client. You do not need this file if you have successfully downloaded this data from the official version of Steam.

In other words, if you can't get Steam to work or it's just really slow to update, get this and you won't need to download the nearly 400MB of updated Counter-Strike and Half-Life files through Steam.

I started mine downloading last night and when i went to bed at 1:45 it had 10 mins to go when i looked this morning at 5:40 it had 1 min to and wasnt counting down.  :angry:  :angry:

Hmm. I thought mine had all updated OK and I've had two games with bots. But now all I get it the icon in the system tray and it says 'Steam - Updating' when I hover my cursor over it. It's been like that for days and I can't open Steam to do anything!  :o  :angry:  :angry:  :(
Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be??  :huh:  :huh:  :blink:
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

Ive just been given a nice blue tablet and everything is ok once more.

I am also taking that link 1 and a half hours till steam wish i had kept the old version :( coulda just upgraded :(

Buy once I got I do I just install it or do I have to uninstall the existing version?  :unsure:  :learn:
