I don't think you were being disrespectful, I can see what your trying to do and I wouldn't be here if I didn't like tactical gaming.  The main issue I had was with having predefined squads of named people which could have stopped new people getting involved.  It may not be what you intended but actually naming people in the initial post didn't help  :) .

oh, I nearly forgot,  what am I taking out of context?  :dummy:

You're taking out of context the presentation of 'named' squad members - as I have said this is a pool to be picked on a night, from what whoever is in charge wants to do.

Everyone will always get a game in the normal run of things because - basically - a six man squad does not mean a 'full team'. The limits on teams are ONLY defined by what maps are being played on that occassion...

16 - 32 - 64

So even in the smallest map - 16 - there is plenty of room for everyone.

That one or even two squads were to be made up from the pool roster, that would still only be 12 players!

Aside from that - the easiest way to join in on the roster is to get your name down - and then turn up!

This in no way would exclude anyone who is NOT on the roster from getting a game - the SL would presumably ask the irregular player in the game to play what class he needs at the time (which is what we already do!)...

The pool just makes it easy fro COs/SLs to plan particular tactics...

This is not a 'if your name isn't on the list you can't come in' thing!

It's basically just how we play things now - with the option for COs/SLs to see what's available that matches a tactic they have in mind.

OK, I think I know where your going now.  Put me down as a sniper in the squad with OB, BB, Lib, Coolhand and Ron.

I think I'll put my name down ont he roster, but not tell you where.  When I turn up, just tell me what you want me to do and make sure that your parachute works if you ask me to fly a chopper.
