Don't be so hard on yourself. You did your best and no one can ask more than that. :flirty:

Yes, we all have to find THE thing that helps us. You are moving to Finland. Perhaps these grandpa slippers will improve your driving: http://www.reino.fi/WebRoot/Planeetta/Shops/suomityres/Products/483/reino_m.gif :D

delankster

really injoyed this race:yahoo:

mainly down to the monumental battle i had with dee-slider in the opening 12 laps or so
i managed to peach the start and jumped up to 3rd into t1 just infront of dee
with us both faster in different parts of the track we swapped possitions too many times to remember!!!! great racing m8 some of the best i've had :worship:
when dee finally got past and made it stick he slowly dissapeared into the distance
with me pushing as hard as i could to keep up i made a few mistakes and let sccc-colt catch up and had a good battle with him for a few
laps but soon settled into a routine and  pulled away
then came the disco unlucky dee
the last half hr was quite quiet and was happy just to finish after last wks race
:clap2: well done romus
and bad luck iron and dee
It is better to stay quiet and act the fool, than to say something and remove all doubt

Aquilifer

A very enjoyable race indeed. :yahoo:

Never been a fan of South city and especially with LX4 I feared it to be a major pain. I guess due to the difficult car the mistakes were quite common which resulted several overtaking chances which kept the race interesting (I hate driving in line like in F1 - or how Finns say "jonossa kuin köyhän talon porsaat").

I had a very good qual lap. Improved my PB by 0.78 secs iirc and first to to 1:14 range (with a clear margin too). The whole week my problem had been two corners where my rear end was very nervous and it kept losing grip because the throttle control was PITA. That lap I managed to handle the rear end well and I knew before the 1st split that was going to be one helluva good lap for me if I don't screw up the last corner.

In the race I put all the needed fuel (64% iirc), which made the car bit less responsive but I think made it less nervous too so my lap times were constantly in 1:15 range. The start of the race was fun. I raced around places 4-6. Maybe around 1/4 of race I had few weak moments and I dropped to 8th (when I made one mistake I tryed to fix it by trying harder and instead made more mistakes).

From half way to the end I was fighting with Andy. I guess I made bit faster stop and won that fight. The gap to the lead group was so big that no chance to catch them.

Congrats to Romus and all who managed to finish. :)

The 'flying cow' (Dee Slider) had bad luck with his disco. He had been very fast so he lost most probably a good result

I did think that huopatossut would fit the bill nicely but you can only buy them at Christmas. Besides it#d take more than a pair of slippers to improve my driving.

What if you paint some "hot rod flames" on them? :g:

crazyR1

Loved this race:D
Spent the first 15 odd laps looking at the back of Sean's car but still had a great race with him and then also had a good battle with Aquilifer.:yahoo:
Thought the car and track went together well.Well done to Romas and all that finished.Bad luck Dee on your disco

Yeah i think it would have been an interesting 4th 5th 6th battle for me, had fate not intervened and made my wheel loose calibration on T1 about half way through the race.  The first half of the race was great. I really had to keep the boot down to escape the clutches of Andy, luckily Paavo kept him busy for me. :D

After crawling back to the pits (to re calibrate my wheel, which also stopped me using Vent)  I was on a mission to finish as far up as I could,  managed to get 2 places up from Oldie and L56, finishing 8th and 1 lap down. Ive actually been pretty lucky with the hour long races for a few weeks now, so I'm not too bothered by the bad luck, I put it down as simulated mechanical failure :D

Congrats to podium takers and participants :)

Jamin

Congrats Romus  :yahoo:

This week I tied a rope to Doormans car and let him pull me round for most of the race whilst I counted to 3600, I had just got to 2947 when Ron spun and the rope snapped so I did the rest of the race myself.

Good fun racing Ron :D

OldBloke

I had a couple of good battles with L56 but any chance I thought I had of staying in front of Sean was quickly squished as he went past me with a couple of laps to spare.

Highlight of the race was Ventrilo applying a 15 second delay to Doors. It was like a 'Two Ronnies' sketch.

Romus

Quote from: Iron;231004I was chasing Romus, at the first 10 laps very close, but no overtaking opportunity, because I was faster only at the tighter part of the track. Then I fell behind a bit, but perhaps due to some mistakes from Romus' part I got close again, and managed to overtake him at the corner after the back straight, although I think he gave in too easily there, like he was too tired to fight.
I noticed that I was faster out of the decisive tight corner before the back straight, so I could take it safe through those corners before it, where it was not possible to overtake. The critical corner was the one where you eventually overtook me, because you could leave the braking later. When you overtook I saw you were determined to do it, and I did not have confidence to brake so late, so I rather went for very late apex trying to see if faster out would let me regain my position, but it did not work.

Quote from: Iron;231004Congrats for the win Romus, the race was most enjoyable while you were in front. It's very rare when the one behind is only slightly faster (if at all) than the one at the front, and from that come the best battles.
This was a great lesson for me. I mean that I've not been pushed to stay at the peak performance level for so long before. When driving alone I just don't have the discipline push hard all the time. It requires an external force for it to happen. So thanks Iron, it was great racing.

Deetz

 Looks like I missed a great race, unfortunately work got in the way.

I just love driving the LX cars, so I am very p***** off. Still, there is always next week.

Bring it on :boxing:
