I'd like to join in on a session. You gave me a good help at the LAN and I think I got my hands on the basics, but I am still not very good at fx tank

Benny

Sounds like we have a beginners night planned......how about tomorrow (Weds) 8-9 UK, so I can get finished before the apprentice?

We can kill the bots to make it more even if we have any takers.

Err isn't Wednesday evenings at 20:00 BST reserved for something else? :g:
I guess if no-one else turns up then we can do a practice session instead. Need to try this kai jumping lark (says he trying to sound as though he knows what he's on about :narnar:)

if we do have attendees for the match then we can do the practice afterwards, we'll just have to manage without Benny.
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

gg. cheers for taking time to explain. I got the basics at the lan but the boomer is always too far, the puke too short and my hunter always jumps eagerly in the wrong direction. More gaming needed i guess :D

The secret to playing as Special Infected is to consider the four classes as totally different. Each has it's own special role and attack profile. Don't just rush in as soon as you can. Patience grasshopper

The Boomer is an ambush predator, find a space where the Survivors will go past (you need to know the maps so frequent play will help). Somewhere where you can spawn out of site and surprise them by suddenly appearing in front of them. Don't try and get too close, or else you'll get punted back and shot. Puke high for range and turn from side to side for maximum coverage, the more you hit the larger the horde.
Once emptied run off and hide. If you get enough time you might be able to barf again, otherwise find a spot where they'll come past and try to run amongst them and hope someone shoots you so you explode. You could go high and jump down amongst them.

The Smoker is a sniper. Wait for a Boomer attack and then pick off any green ones. If they are on roofs or high things try and pull them to the edge and maybe you'll get them hanging off them. If there is a Tank try and grab a green one so the Tank can concentrate on the others. Also it has the advantage of getting the Survivors to group up as they try rescue the captured one. If there is a car alarm hide behind it and try and pull a Survivor to it. Being behind them you can delay their progress long enough to give the Boomer time to recharge, the Hunter time to position or the Tank time to get close.

More to come soon

Lol first thought was let him type, but nah...:norty:

The breakdown I see is;

Boomer (always spawn in front) - is the trigger for infected attacks. Once the boomer goes, all the rest jump in. If you puke on two people or if someone is smoked it's always worth jumping in the way to catch a stray bullet and blow up on the remainder.

Smoker - pick off from behind, slows down progress and try to pull people into gaps.

Hunters - Attack after the boomer goes and the Horde comes in, also used as a distraction by sailing overhead whilst everyone else gets in position.

Interesting. I'd love to hop on a beginners session as I still have difficulties with my hunter jumps. Alas Wed's are hard for me.

Anyone playing tonight? :norty:

I'll be on after racing's done - about 21:30. Late I know but I'll need a L4D fix.
