I don't know if you are using the cs1.6 version with the steam cache included or allowing Steam to download the whole dedicated server?

But if you want to use that link above make sure the Danish download site is used as the US site is only 158KB, so a dodgy file.

Do you need to install a new version of HLDS? If so which version? Or is is sent via Steam as well?

Thanks albert.  From what I've seen God help us if cs1.6 needs to check in with steam to run.  Its so damn slow!!! I cant even get an account created to begin the server new upgrade.....

All this trouble to the cs community just so in the future valve can make more fekin money by making us pay for the game then making us pay to play it.... bastards!

I have a linux pc at work so I'll try and do an install on there today, not sure my firewall will let out the required ports though.

its official, steam fukin sucks!!!! its too slow at the mo to even create an account so I may try to do a fresh install for meathook.

Chances are oldies install was working too!  looking at the logs the game fires and runs, I saw bomb not planeted messages even, also the server saying it was listening for connections.... only linux seemed to think different with netstat not showing any binding to the ports.  It begged the question was the server waiting for a responce back from steam that would never come.

Nah bunch of ar*e, I doubt the firewall will let me through to steam. I'll check when I get home, get linux on my old pc and give it a go.  :angry:

No need to create new accounts Stryker - use the one's I set up for the servers. They were created OK.
