Pretty good, USA are a handy team though.  We should get through top of group still.

Allow me to rain....

Once we win the group we'll potentially face Germany who have a tougher group. So whilst our warm up is the Billericay 2nd eleven, they will be match hardy and raring to go....


That said, we can win it this time!!!!! This time, more than any other time, this time....Hold and give, get to the line, three lions...

Sulky, I think you'll find that I have been obsessively stalking Ms Theron in my mind for years in a sad and rather disturbing way, so I've beaten you to it I'm afraid.

The thing I like about the world cup is that desperate optimism that comes round every four years, where English football fans and TV pundits wonder if this time could be the one when we 'bring it home'. However the anticipation of victory is always tainted but that lurking certainty that it's never going to happen and England will get bounced out in the quarter finals.

Still hopeless optimism is what got us through the Blitz :)

That's assuming Germany make it out of their group, they haven't looked too hot recently. Then again, it's Germany at the world cup - they always find a way.

I reckon England are a semi-final team at best, Spain or Brazil to win it :)

Yeh but germany like the russians dont play football do they?  they just prevent the other party from playing a decent game :g:
