Minecraft Tekkit server its aallliiiveee

As the post says, with some server manipulation from Oldie we are pleased to announce that the mine-craft server has been changed to the Tekkit modded version. When I posted a month ago that the server had a trial period before we decided whether or not for it to switched off I have had numerous requests for this modified version to be put on it, so with that in mind, tonight Oldie switched it. It has been set to survivor mode, if someone wants to go creative for a few days to restore the build they had on the last version of thee server that is fine. The only caveat of this is they are not to resource hog, and once they get to the stage they were at, they ask to be set to survivor again.

Please also be aware that the trial period will still be another month, if we have an acceptable number of players playing regularly, then the server will remain.

To enable all players to have as best a playing experience as possible, I (we more to follow) have decided to revert back to the white-list, all players who want to be on that list have to be members of the forums. This is to ensure that the new players are aware of the dMw ethos and the way we like to play. We don't want to create a public server and have it griefed all time. We (we again eh?) would rather a few (hopefully more than 10) regular players have a quality gaming experience. So with that in mind as a starter for ten the rules that Brother Toby put up a while ago still apply


Basic rules of respect.

Peoples homes are free to view unless they have posted signs which say otherwise, we all like to show off our creations.

Building of mechanisms which can deliberately kill another player are allowed as long as a general "Risk of death" warning is posted along the way. Retaliation for any resultant loss of life is therefore not expected.

Items can not be taken from chests which are not obviously game generated or in pre-defined communal "shared resource" areas, unless they have permission from the owner.

Respect other peoples creations and do not modify them without consent. Mining into another players house deliberately is not nice, accidental entry should be repaired and a courtesy note dropped to the owner explaining what happened.

Client side mods or skins which give an unfair advantage over the basic game mechanics are not allowed, our server believes that all miners are created equal and that they should remain that way.



To that end all previous white-listed players will still be able to join. An admin will over the course of the next few days "try" to re-input the white-list as when the previous version was copied onto the Tekkit server it didn't work.

download the client version that you require, it will save as a .exe file, run it and enter your logon details (this is so it can access the java for minecraft)

click on MODPACKS > in the top left hand corner type in TEKKIT > 4 will appear, you want to click on TEKKIT (its a blue rocket) > then bottom right click on install.

Once installed the install button will change to play, click on that and find the dMw server in multiplayer as usual (you will need the IP)


if you try to connect and it says you aren't on the white-list please contact the 2 newly appointed and newly smelling mine-craft admins

Is it just me, or is the server offline today?  Apologies if I've missed something, not had chance to get on for a couple of weeks.
