That's not a firewall, it's a spyware detector.

Do you have Win XP? If so, there is a built-in firewall that might cause problems.

No, thats a antivirus scanner. However, it would be a good idea to shut down the antivirus scanner while playing BF2. Turn it on afterwars.

I firewall is a program (sometimes hardware in a router) which controls the connection to and from the internet. Sometimes the firewall will not let BF2 connect to other servers, and you need to give Bf2 permission.

I suggest you try to connect to another server, just to see if you are able to play online or if it is only the DMW-server that gives you problems.

I agree with BlueBall. Forget the firewall advice for now, and just try to connect with a server (any server in Bf2 will do).

If you experience lag in-game, try (temporarily) turning off the EZ antivirus and the MS Antispyware.

blueball i tryed play the version u give me but the computer is tell me to update. is i need to install the new one or play urs?

Did you download the patch? If so, doubleclick the file, and it should install itself autmoatically (this takes a little while).

Then you start up BF2 and try to join a server.

done everything, but annying is everytimes i open the game, the computer tell me need to update? i just did the 4 hours ago. and how i can unlock the weapons, so i dont need to keep pick up the weapon on the floor

Ehrm, dude. Your losing us on this 1.
First of all, it's not like CS:CZ, you can't pick up weapons from the floor unles you're switcing a kit with a dead guy. That's way to far in BF2 allready.

What I suggest:
Delete everything from BF2.

What kind of graphics card do you have? Are you sure it's in the list from BF2 that you can use it?

If so:
Install BF2.
Download the latest patch from BF2.
Then try to join our server and see what happens.
Also make SURE you have the latest drivers for your graphics card and soundcard.
Soundcard might not sound like a big 1 but it is!!!

Work from there.

duvel i think i explain wrong, i have some primary level weapon, like ak m4 but in the game people can have g36, so i want to ask how i can unlock this weapons?

Did you manage to join a game at all?

The message you get when opening the game (the menus) to get the update, you'll get even if you have the update. Check the version number of your BF2 (I think it is in the upper left corner). It should read 1.12-something. If it does, it's the right version.

If you are able to join a game and play (you mentioned something about picking up weapons... so I'm starting to think you've managed to go online), everything should be OK.

To unlock wepaons, you need to accumulate a certain number of points on ranked servers. When you have enough points, you can unlock a kit/weapon. I don't know the requirements for the different unlocks, but I am sure someone else on this forum knows (and will tell you).

Yep. But I think it is possible to turn off the message from EA, but I can't remember how. It is a good idea to leave it on, though, you'll be notified when there is updates available.

EDIT: Did you manage to get into an online game? Do you still have problems joing the dMw-server?
