i was buy the bf2 last day, but everytimes i connect ip the computer will time connection failed check the connection, i was type the 87.240.138.22 in the ip address and in the port was 16567. so is someone help me plz. and i cant auto download maps and cant play the version is not same as my one. is any genius can help me?

sulky_uk

a firewall could cause that, try checking to see if you firewall is blocking bf2 in its log, if so add bf2 to you allowed programs, another thing ive found is that joining thru xfire causes a lot less error connections than manually entering it

I came into this world with nothing,
through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

Hi initial, have you downloaded all the patches?

Are you running Special Forces?

Are you having problems connecting today?

You don't auto download maps, so don't worry about that.

You may also want to read this thread regarding problems running bf2:

Getting BF2 to run

Post again and let us know the details above and exactly what problems your having. Good luck.

You have to be running patch 1.12 for BF2 to join the server. If you haven't applied the patch you will need to .

My version of BF2 is 1.1.2554-356.0 so you seem to be running an older version. get the patch from http://eagames.co.uk/downloads.view.asp?dl_id=1310

You shouldn't have to turn off firewall if other games have played OK and you did not have to turn off or configure firewall for them

Actually, I said the backgroundprograms you don't need.
For me it's shutting down DownloadAccelarator, F@H and Xfire.
But check the links given. I'm still sorting my computer out with memorycards and all (PS Norm, I'm still working on it).

OS: Operating System: Windowns 2000/XP/NT.

Device Drivers: You need these for your graphics card/sound card. Newest patch for them.

BIOS, maybe one of the English can better say what you need to check for this.

Hope you undestrand what I'm typing here, I'm still Dutch never the less.

BIOS means Basic Input Output System.

I can't see that it should be necessary to mess around with the BIOS. Try switching your firewall off and then connecting. If it works, you need to give permissions for BF2.exe in your firewall.

What firewall do you use?

If you experience lag in-game, try to switch off antivirus and other programs running in the background that you don't need.

my firewall is mircosoft antispyware beta, and i try to play at the meathook, but it is  locked

Have you updated to the latest version of BF2 yet? If not then you MUST do it before you start worrying about anything else on your computer.
