I enjoy bf2 more the less we seem to mess about with it, I can take the mod thats running (it stops the game getting totally crazy)  & I like it left like that, I don't think we need to do much more to the game, we all know how to play fair & the dMw way things are done.

If it ain't broke etc.....

I like BF2.
If I play lately it's a bit more on ranked servers but I had a few GG's on our own server.
I think I finally have my computer problem solved which I had since the last LAN (when I added my new Graphicscard and memory (memory was probably the problem but needs more testing)).
You'll see me online a bit more if work doesn't intefear.

For me BF2 is allright but it needs some help against the bloody:

Unusually for me, BF2 has held my attention and I'm still enjoying playing it. I still learn new things like today for example, I played for 4 hours on a Karkand only server and learnt some new strategies which I'd not seen before.

I notice I don't enjoy BF2 half as much without dMw guys playing.

Last night I was playing on the TG server and noticed nearly a full squad of dMwers on the opposing side and then ended up playing till 1.30 in the morning with Norm in a great squad.

My interest may have waned if it wasn't for discovering dMw and the friends I've made on here.

I think Ranger summed it up - its like having a good social night out at the pub playing BF2 with you guys, we chat, have a laugh, drink eat and ....shoot each other.

ps I'm online tomorrow if anyone fancies a game, ranked or not I don't mind?  :D

I enjoy BF2 a lot!

I bought it as a last-ditch attempt at online shooters. Played a bit at public/ranked servers, and thought it another frag/TK/etc-kind of thing. Forgot about it for a while.

Then I googled up TG, which in turn advised me to try out the dMw-site.

After meeting you guys (sniff), the gaming experience has increased tenfolds!

The dMw-style of play really does it for me. When you've been playing for a while, you start to recognize the people on the server, and it is even more fun.

QA: I still enjoy BF2!!!! (even though some of you guys need to hone your driving skills    )

I've has some excellent games of CS/CZ in the past. Real high tension nailbiters with excellent teamwork and comms. But I can honestly say that in the short time I've been playing BF2 I've been in battles that have surpassed those earlier highlights.

Fan-bloody-tastic.

I've cobbled together a PC out of plasters and sugar cubes, until my missus accepts that I need to give Norm some money.

So my Ath 2400XP is now running at a wopping 800mhz. Oh yeah......so the only motherboard I had lying around has a fixed multiplier of 6.

Too many fried PC's in my house... So yeah, I'm loving BF2. Especially the reading the forum bit.

I'm still a little unsure.......it really depends on who is playing.

Only played a few games of BF2 but a few things stand out to me

1. With the wrong people playing it's poo ( and there are a lot of wrong people it seems )
2. Some of the map sizes are a little big for the numbers that show on the dMw server
3. To some extent i'd say some of the maps lack "structure" ( for want of a better word )
4. With lowish numbers ( say 6 a-side ) i think the use of helicopters/tanks/planes actually detracts from the game

At the moment given the choice of playing CZ on a dMw server or BF2 on a dMw with a mix of dMw/non-teamplayers i'd choose CZ........it's graphically not so good.....it's more restrictive in some ways.....but the fun side is everyone is clued up on the game and respects the spirit of play.........it's still very much like a comfortable pair of shoes.

Basically...with CZ i'm guaranteed a good fun game......with BF2 so far it's 50/50 as to whether it's good......had a great game the other night and i can see with the right people playing and good squad control that it's a great game.

Norm

:withstupid: Can feel like a totally different game if you get the wrong peeps playing. Some servers even have the voice comms disabled. :(

BTW Duvel, whats wallaby hopping?  ;)

anygame CZ or BF2 with non team players is going to be less fun.

Do I still enjoy BF2? What kind of question is that?!? OF COURSE!!!  :D

But as almost everyone is saying, it really is because of you guys. The atmosphere both on the forum and in game is excellent. Because of your attitude I feel right at home - I feel like I've known you for years.

Unfortunately due to the lousy connection/ping I have here at home, I'm not on the server as often as I'd like to. Still even haven't tried SF with you guys...  :(

So expect me to pop up between xmas and happy new year.

I'm with different kinds of family from now untill the 28th, so I'll take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!!! May Santa treat you well!  :P

Our uni is the same (Paddy, Dewey, 9Slice and I work in a uni) - they have closed down every port other than those absolutely necessary!

Gotta ask, what uni are you guys (and you too Twig) at? I'm one of the network admins at Lancaster, and i've just recently managed to get the higher-ups to allow Steam out through our residence network, so CS is now an option. Still a no-go on fronts like BF2 or WoW though (so far ). To be fair, untl a few years ago (i.e. when they blocked it when I was still a student on campus) they had a reasonable reason to. Heavy gaming, and P2P stuff, when your student residence network consists of stacks of 8 or so 24 port *hubs* with a 100mbit uplink per stack, does not a stable network make. That was back when the residence network basically got castoffs deemed obsolete from the main campus backbone to be built from. These days it actually has it's own budget, so we've got a fairly nice setup with 1 gigabit uplink per stack of 2 48 port switches back to our core. Much nicer...

As to the BF2 front, i'm still loving it (though I don't get on the server nearly as often as i'd like to). But having tried to played ranked a few times I have to agree with the comments from everyone else. It's the people playing that make the game. I just don't enjoy ranked, and have all but given up being able to get any unlocks, though some of them do sound cool.

Apart from anything else, I need you guys to prop me up ;) Score on a 'standard' DMW map for me is generally between 35 and 60 (OK, I know it's not that good :narnar:), and most of that is from the teamwork/help score. Even though I try to work as a team member and help out squadmates on ranked I seem to end up with a score anything between 5 and 15... and somehow often get negative teamwork score
