For those of you who haven't got "Strike At Karkand 2" installed, it would probably be a good idea to get it installed now.

Google is your friend

There's no particular reason for this you understand.

But it may avoid problems joining the AAS server in the near future.

There is also another file which would be an advantage to install. It turns the CP names to real names instead of code names.

BB,

Could you do the honours and and attach the file I sent you to this thread.

Here is Liberators localisation file. he suggests you put it in:

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Localization\English\

I came into this world with nothing,
through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\levels

Should have a directory in there for every level you have. If you installed the TotalBF2 mappack, then you've got it.

Karkand2, is that something like dust2? A much better version of the map?
Is it also usuable for the normal BF2?

The only reason you see real names on the "included" maps with BF2 & SF is that there is a bit of substitution going on at the code level. Otherwise on the original 'Strike at Karkand' you would see "cpname_sk_32_trainaccident" on the map instead of "Train Accident".

This substitution is done in the localizations files level and there isn't one for "Strike at Karkand 2", so I've made the one above.

If you want to see the difference then try the following.

Install the map and create a local server within your game for the map. You'll see lots of useless names on the overview map.

Now put the "dMw locale" file in place and start the server again, you'll see that it has replaced the duff names with useful ones.  :D

You can get the TotalBF2 Mappacks at this website:

I know there shouldn't be too many pinned subjects, but how about a pinned subject about what addons we need to play (when it becomes a requirement, I mean).

IntitalD

where is the download links on the map pack website?
found it, dont worry
