We need a backup of that database as soon as that server is back up,
and if it dont we need to come up with some other system of handing out loot on raids.

youll prolly know whats needed to make it work, but i think we all would like to know how it would work

I got a lot of response about the existing DKP people have, so if we build a new site, i assume that we will get peoples "old" dkp into that site later when Siteburg.com comes up?

I think it would be better to just reset the entire thing if we change to a zero sum dkp system.
If not it will probably upset the balance a bit.

Kreuz and Tanales, make a new system asap. We can't wait for siteburg.

Well TL I reckon we will need a webserver thats runnin PHP and a MySQL database if we are sticking with EQDKP system, witch we should.

Kreuz you need to get us some info on what sort of DKP system you are going to use,
Zero sum or whats it going to be?

Arent you gonna piss a whole lot of people off who had 3-4 the amount of DKP that other members didnt have?

Well, unless you have a way of scaling down the DKP amount from the old system to a zero sum DKP system, it won't work.
And we could just ask them... Bastet, Kreuz, Teaelle; Do you mind?

They will probably get that much again and if we give them a good explanation to why we did this i think most will be ok with getting a new system.

And the old system had some MAJOR flaws, it worked but could have worked alot better.

what we could do is divide all the numbers in the old database by 10, meaning a 1000 DKP would become 100 and itemcosts also, so a T2 item would be 20 instead of 200 and so on.

or we can just screw DKP alltogether and use SuicideKings.

By tonight there'll be a box up and running PHP and MySQL. The DKP can be installed there (it will sit on the same box as the new forums, so will fit in nicely).

Can you confirm what we are going to install to start with please? EQDKP again?

I am assuming that the discussions to change to a different DKP would take a little longer than you folks want to spend on getting an immediate replacement up and running. It also allows somewhere to import the old DKP records quickly if they ever come back online again.
