Cheat Scanner

I'm wondering what would happen if any of the -=[dMw]=-ers would get caught with something like that.

I tell u summin, I ain't gunna play on BoD any more if they are using summin to scan my computer. I know i ain't never had ne h4x but I don't trust them.

PS this wasn't admin swapping ppl, it was the same bloke every time miles ahead of the others.

To clarify my comments, I think that the scanning scripts that Rambo wnet through suck.  They have never worked reliably, other than to regularly give false positives.  Hence I think they suck.  Seriously suck.

If I were considering a case I would not want to rely on such a scan.  Many Charlie members remember being booted from a very early UKCSL match series several times as the 'script' used to check things was so buggy.

If it picks up demo s called mygot or hacker etc its a bit severe to be banning people for positive scans.  im with Duvel and co on this Rambo is a decent guy and deserves the benefit of  doubt. Whatever happened to innocent till proven guilty?  If it is known that it may flag up on names alone  then discretion should be used and seeing as a lot of us have played with Rambo and no one has ever complained in the past should tell us something. Anyway theres allways razer mebbe this will encourage more people to stay closer to home :wub:   I agree totally that if someone appears dodgy by all means scan them but to scan every player who plays regularly on your server is maybe a wee  bit excessive not to mention untrusting of your regs.

Wish u all the best with this Rambo  hope u get your name cleared as if you are correct and got sullied for having a  empty zip called aimbot or whatever least you will know who your true BoD friends are.

Anyone remember it - it had a sniper guy leaning out of the window with a robot holding the barrel.

In light of recent events surrounding the cheat scanner, and following testing by both Neth and a long standing member of the community it has been brought to our attention that the cheat scanner can give misleading results, where innocent files can be picked up as a possible hack/exploit we have decided to un do NT Rambo's ban however, Iains will remain in-place due to the quantity and location of files found and exacts will remain in place as he openly admitted using a wallhack on the NT forum and has made no attempts to prove his innocence. And he even had the stupidity to ask how to permanently delete his recycle bin whilst in irc and about to run the scanner. This WILL be the only get out of jail free card. I hope Rambo takes this oppurtunity to remove whatever files were found on his pc (innocent of otherwise) and be rescanned. He will only have one chance to perfom the scan so had better make it count. Now I and the other cheatscanner admins are aware of this problem with the cheat scanner we are fully aware of what to look for and how to distinguish between these innocent files.

From now on anybody found with anything on their pc will be banned after the findings have been analyzed. This is your ONE AND ONLY chance to remove anything even remotely suspicious as EVERYONE will be subjected to scanning and there will be no more second chances.

Many thanks to the member who helped me out with the testing, Rambo you owe him a debt of gratitude.

Scanning will now take place only when it is requested in-game by an admin. We are no longer scanning people who request it.

They should appologize to Rambo to be honest.. To suggest that Rambo owes them anything for investigation their faulty scanner is a joke tbh.

If I was Rambo I'd go back there and thank them for retracting their ban and accept their apology (although none was offerred). I'd then say that due to the mistreatment that I wouldn't be back.

If an admin says everyone i presumed it meant everyone,as did a few others probably even though i do object to people who tbh are unknown to me scanning my computer i went for a scan as EVERYONE seemed pretty decisive to me!! :tongue:

I can't believe how arrogant they are being.  I always thought the BOD guys were OK but just goes to show!  I won't be going back in a hurry and I think we should make the effort to get people on Razer.  At least we make people feel welcome
