I assume like me, many of you have jumped onto the extra bandwidth for nothing wagon.

My account was activated on Thrs.

Since then I've been testing the bandwidth using several monitors like ADSLGuide & BlueYonders Speed test.

So far MY D/L has not changed from my original 2MB speed @ 1800 - 1900 kbps.

I know theres a 10 day settling down period but I would have thought I might have seen some change by know.
I've been on forums where many ppl seem to have got to 8MB speeds from day 1.

Is it too soon to start bitching to my isp (Eclipse) who upto know have given good speeds.

I'd be interested to know how the rest of you have got on and which isp your with

Rebooted your router/modem/pc in the mean time?

Exactly the same thing for me.

The good news ... this happens to people who are close to their exchange and who have a rock-solid connection which means you'll get 6.5MB+ :)

My connection stuck on 2MB for 3 days, then started ramping up/down about twice a day. It will be 'set' after 10 days.

One point you must remember is that you aren't guaranteed 8mb all the time. This could be sue to server downtimes or due to the network not working normally as it is either being upgrading or something is wrong with the bandwidth at that particular time. What you must however realise is that you will be often operating a faster connection than the max upload than the servers you are downloading from are use to. So your download speeds will vary due to these restrictions or caps as it were. These will probably i would have thought been capped to allow fair distribution. I regularly take up lots of slots when i download some files from fileplanet as the server in Europe isn't that busy compared to the east and west coast servers in the usa. Therefore it may just be down to the fact that you will only get that speed if everything runs correctly. Many companies do advertise that their connections are only up to 8mb not 8mb as standard.

Its been 7 days now and my speed still has never gone above 1800 - 1850 kbps.
Its dropped to around 1400 though on occaision.
Upstream has increased to 380.

And yes each time I've ran the speed test I've rebooted and unplugged my modem.

I've contacted Eclipse so I'll see what they say..probably wait for the 10 days :(
