Hi OB, what version of mySQL are you running behind the forums?

I'm investigating what appears to be have been an update up to mySQL 5.0.20a and we've lost our PM ability on our IPB forums, and we're also using the trial version. Apparently it is fixed in a newer retail version.

Curious to see what ver you're at here to compare notes on while I try to find a fix for it.

i imagen the we would b better of running mysql4.1.

mysql 5 is a huge leap in features (transactions/store procedures etc) that i doupt this forum software needs.

Will check with the software site and see if there are any known issues running on mysql5.

Invision Power Board requires PHP 4.3+ and either MySQL 3.23+ (4.x highly recommended), MSSQL or Oracle 9i for database storage. MySQL 5.x not yet supported - news on MySQL 5.x support coming soon.

So there you go, mysql5 isnt yet supported. mySQL 4.1 is the best bet.

Short of it, the gentleman that runs our box was trying to sort another issue and went to 5 while updating Debian, unawares of the issue.  From what I've been reading, this particular issue in 5 isn't really an issue, more of a force of proper implementation of code.   :huh:

Hopefully he can back it down to pre-5.

Anyway, heads up on that in case Gandalf gets around to updating things  :roflmao:

The new server is 4.1. We'll be on that soon enough.

This server won't be upgraded for a while as it's stable and works.
