Thought it would be interesting to see how popular GTL is.

Starforce not caused any problems on my PC, yes it is annoying but it's not bothered me.
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

one of my dvd burners doesnt like it so i dont use it to burn anymore

and ive just installed all the tracks except silverstone which is dl' ing at 1kbs

I came into this world with nothing,
through careful management I\'ve got most of it left.

just remember that when you eventually remove GTL from your PC you will need to separately remove StarForce ... also watch out for other games also using starforce as they will happily install multiple versions (after I knew what to look for I think I had 2 or 3, several versions apart) Also watch out for games using similar protection schemes from other companies as they may conflict (keep this in mind if a game fails to work for no apparent reason...)

all in all PC still running though...

I got the game & I would play it, but aslong as StarFarce has anything to do with it I won't be, so I don't expect to see any of you any time soon at all.

I realy dont understand the prob with SF ... I have had no concerns with it at all and still burn the same things that I always did

Starforce has several bad points. Badly summarised from memory...
It allows a "level 3 command/login/thing access to level 0 commands" posing a security threat.
Often it installs without telling you with application X.
You have no idea it is running.
It runs from boot up to shut down irrespective of the applications running.
It monitors what programs are running, a potential threat to your privacy.
When you install a 2nd application with starforce of a different version you end up with 2 separate starforce installs running (I did anyway...).
Most of the time when you uninstall X, starforce remains on your system.
It potentially damages drive functionality.
I understand the coding to be "shoddy" and pretty much a hack job.

I'm not so sure I like the sound of it but my PC is still alright (though it does have some serious go-slow moments and the drives sometimes don't seem to respond on the first attempt) so until a workaround comes out I need it to play GTL.

Basically it#'s another piece of DRM that basically punishes legitimate consumers to a degree. <_<

Yes, I play GTL
No, I don't play GTL and never will
I will start playing GTL soon

I want a "I have no intention of buying GTL at this point in time"  :narnar:

Saying that i never will is very definitive.  Maybe i'll see it at the LAN and think 'mm, yes'
