Quote from: Doorman;273651This you may find interesting. I loaded it up, changed the FF ingame to 25% as per instructions and had a drive (XRT) I have to say the difference was...subtle, but as I turned some laps (I 'turn' laps these days :roflmao:) I began to think it felt better. :g: See what you think.

Had a play with this and I'd say it has a lot of potential. Defo a more progressive feel to it all, but I had some problems with jolting and sharp violent FFB which was kind of annoying when going round bends and stuff.

Also it seemed as if the FFB just dropped away at certain points then comes back violently again. Had the FFB Setting to 25 in the options like he recommended and tried a few cars.

Did you get this too?

Doorman

I thought this might be worth a bump.
The FF .dll (HERE it is again) really makes a difference to my mind. The FXR is the first car I tried it on and the difference is marked. There is a feeling of lightness when the front gives way....well, give it a go, see what you think. Turn your ingame FF down to about 25-30. I don't know how this feels if you use 360 degrees steering though.

Ahh cheers Doors, I was wonder about this after I heard you mention it the other night.  Interesting, I never really even considered the need for a mod to alter the way LFS handles FFB.

Author:
"This little dll intercepts FFB commands issued by LFS, and apply some weird filter to make you feel whatever can be felt inside the FFB (bumps, grip loss...etc.) while avoiding clipping"

What does he mean "Avoid clipping"?  I am familiar with the term when speaking about audio, is it the same kind of thing? E.g. he feels that the default effects spike to their maximum sometimes, meaning your missing out on some finer information?

Anyway, I guess Ill give it a try.

Yeah, big difference, but I didn't like it. It was a mix of LFS feel and something else, and that was not good at all. :) But it was a nice try. The idea is something like the Realfeel for rFactor. Maybe somone else could make it better. I don't know.

If you read through the whole of that thread there are widely differing views. From Moose who said it robbed him of any FF at all (MSFF. I wonder what he feels about it with his new wheel)) to someone who wanted Juls' babies! :lmfao: Turning the in game FF down to 15% did the trick for me. (101% in profiler)

I also heard that you need to turn quite a lot of laps before it calibrates properly.

Ok, I didn't do more than five laps.

I've been watching the development of this client-side app. There's a fair bit of duplication/crossover with other apps but this one's being developed by the author of Airio :worshippy:

A nice variation on pitspotter is his 'radar' solution.

Worth a play me thinks.

Hi guys. Last night i wanted to check some action on DMR server via LFS Remote, but it said something like "invalid hostname" or something, and there was no dmr server in the list...

I just showed my girlfriend how she can watch me from far away (she is in different town), she said it's cool thing, but there is no dmr server... And i tough she's about to get at least 1% of understanding for what "i do" :norty:

Yeah the dMr server hasn't been available through LFS Remote for quite some time now.

lovretta

Pity... she's gonna have to wait till i'm arsed to go somewhere else then dmr :lmfao:

It has to activated via the LFS World 'Dead Men Racing' team section. I handed control of that to Lameduck as team owner. I don't know who's got it now.

Apparently I still have control, but will transfer to Jamin. Had a look at Team Section data and LFS Remote not mentioned. I've never switched it off (dont know how to ) and think it was in an Insim section. Will try to reinstate.

Yeah, it's an insim thing and it has to be kicked into action every so often. Press 'Reactivate'. My memory has dimmed but I do recall it was a fiddly thing. :)

I seem to think there was a firewall issue when it was set-up originally :g:
