maximum number of players in a raid dungeon in the expansion will be 25players for the epic raids and 10 for the smaller raids.

confirmed by blizzard in http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?FN=wow-general&T=9467359&P=1

QuoteIt's true, the plan is for five-player capped grouped dungeons. Ten-player capped raid dungeons. As well as Twenty-five-player capped epic raid dungeons. We wanted to focus on smaller raid environments, primarily to allow for greater individual player contribution. Also, in these smaller environments, hybrid classes have more opportunity to shine.
Woooo :D

Like a guy said in the post: "This is gonna be a headache."

It's an AWESOME idea really. But the fact that raidgroups have to cut down to a 25-man raid is going to be a huge headache and will probably lose alot of good people because of it.

Neff

Will be kinda like from Age of empire to WCIII.

AoE = Shitload of units. WcIII = you need to build thoose units to defeat thoose units etc.

It'll be kinda like C'thun prob, everyone needs to pay more attention.

I like the idea, but heck, we will get problems with raidgroups.

Hell SoG might be able to put up RG1+2+3+4 when exp comes out!

QuoteIn the same sense, we're going to pushing the Shaman toward a more DPS and healing hybrid. We're going to make sure that we focus on their ability to do DPS and perform their healing duties.

Start nerfing!

Sinap

Well... at least we will have them on our side too :P

Horde will still have all the über geared Shamans

Fantastic!  I was hoping for them to scale down the number of people in a raid. Everyone's contribution will now be more clearly noticable and it will be easier organization wise. It's a lot easier to put 10 or 25 man groups together so we might be able to raid during the day as well. Right now we are limited to two or three evenings and there is only limited time available for learning new encounters.

I've also got the feeling that hybrid classes will become more important. Because you only have a limited number of people of a certain class along. Druids, pallies and shamans can fill up the gaps :flirty: .

It will however be hard to put together a large number of raid groups, because there are only a limited amount of people that play a certain class (like druids). If you got three of each class in a raid group on average I'm guessing you can get two or three well balanced raid group at best (depending on who buys the expansion and under the condition that everyone is always online, which won't happen).

The one major thing that sucks is:
How the hell do y ou decide who gets into RG 1 part 1/part 2? how the hell do you organize it? it requires like 2-4 officers per raidgroup, no? and how do you decide who gets into what? Im sure most would feel "wasted" or misplaced if they came into the one with the not so hardcore raiders, call it number 1= The hardcore raiders, number=2 the one with some hardcore, and the "rest" thoose who wanna progress, but still cant be arsed to grind for matts for pots (like ragnaros) number = 3 etc.

Theres a good chance that'd happen, but not unless the officers would let it happen. Randomly rolling trough our raidgroups would help. But then again, it'd most likely be the ones that grinded themselvs to lvl 70.

I don't like this at all

As Neff said, and as Siren said on the official realm forums:

QuoteA step in the right direction how? By making groups of people who have grown and worked together and forged firm friendships over the last couple of years suddenly have to decide who is worthy of Raid Group 1 and who gets pushed to Raid Group 2?

jantore

Well one thing is for sure if Blizzard does this, they will loose alot of players. And there will be a problem getting ppl into the other 40 man raids.

I will consider quiting wow if this happens.
