I tried it out yesterday, and it was really great. The installation worked straight out of the box, and I also managed to add WIM, Outfitter and ArkInventory without any problems. Think this is something I can learn to love :yahoo:
I spent some time exploring the different possible configuration utilities, and I still need a bit more time here before I'm satisfied, and it also felt a bit "unnatural", but I guess I'll get used to it if I just give it a couple of days :)

However, I have a couple of more questions:
#1: now that a new version of Photed is out for the new patch, when upgrading, is it enough that I copy all the add-ons from the Photek Interface folder (and perhaps also the Fonts folder), so that I get to keep all my settings in the W T F folder? Would prefer to not have to configure it again for each upgrade.
#2: when making it work for more characters, is it just to make several copies of the folder, and rename them to the names of my different characters (after I've configured it satisfactory for the first character)?

I installed it yesterday and spent the best part of 4 hours messing with it and adding extra mods. It does take some getting use to, the hardest bit was working out what did what, as the individual mod names aren't the most useful.

I still have some setting up todo, I'll post a screen shot when I'm happy.

:)

Yes.  I rename the folders with _old as mentioned in an earlier post and then install.  I then copy across any addon folders (but do not allow any overwrites).  I also then copy across my savesvariables files for each.  This usually works just fine.
#2
Yes.  That's exactly what I do.

WOW I installed it yesterday as well.

TL thanks for the help on TS.

Once TL explained some of the basic bits to me then I found it relatively easy to customize, it is going to take a bit of time to get used to but I think It will b better in the end. Looks great on my new wide screen monitor, Im just stuck with the decision on if im going to keep the combat log or have damage meters...... or maybe..... ill have another play when I get home.

Problem is that I missed Top Gear last night due to messing around with Photek, that annoyed me

My current UI is based on the Photek X compilation but is substantially different now after tweaking.

The screenshot:
MT windows are visible, Target, ToT, Focus T, FToT all show in this shot.  Obviously when I do not set a focus target the two target panels middle right do not show up.
A full 25 person raid fits into the Grid space alongside Omen.
Replaced ag_Unitframes with Pitbull as it shows a PVP flag(!) and also cooldowns on the debuffs/buffs shown on the target. Left chat channel has 2 panes:  One with all the crap in, the other panel is for raiding and has only /ra, guild and class channels showing, so no distractions.
Right chat panel is combat log only.
In addition to the addons used in the Photek X compilation I added:
Omen
Grid
BigWigs
oRA2
Recount
XRS
DurabilityFu
Cartographer
WhoDrops
Decursive
NECB

The only thing I am going to change is to remove Decursive (you can see the transulscent microframes on the lower righthand side) and replace it with Clique to use in conjunction with Grid.

Enjoy!

Pitbull is much better than ag_untiframes I find and is highly configurable.  And if you want a copy of the whole UI then shout and I can ZIP it up and MSN it to you, or transfer it at the LAN.

Aabbath

Think i may have to nab some of these mods, quite like one i have at present but it can get quite messy, esp now i have healbot on. Just hope the unit frames work similarly to XPerl for party and raid frames

sheepy

i personally use grid for my unit frames

meens that i have my whole raid displayed ina 1.5" by 2cm box in 10 man raiding

top left in my screenie is what grid is like. imo best unit frame there is
