Hi all,

I went into Tesco extra last night and they had a navman icn 330 reduced down from £149.95 to £99.95. I bought it straight away and so far its been excellent. It can't cope with adding points of interest or speed camera locations but for the price it was a bargain. I had waited ages for a sat nav to reach under £100 and finally one did :P. Are there any tweaks for it? It's still on amazon for £199 so i'm really please :D.

Hope you all go and buy one :P

No, get the AA atlas, it's got a hardcoded set of speed camera locations. Battery life is amazing and the touch technology page flipping is a great new invention.

I am a Man.

I read maps to pass the time whilst waiting for my daughter to finish whatever persuit I'm picking her up from.

I read maps whilst on the toilet.

I pride myself on not having to turn the map upside down when travelling South.

I can fold an Ordnance Survey map so the bit I want is on top.

I can fold it back again.

I have a compass in the heel of my shoe, and animal tracks on the sole.

I will never surrender to the Tom-Tom:no2:

I am man enough to admit that my sense of direction sucks, as does my memory for directions, so as long as where the SatNav is taking me looks reasonable, it's preferrable to having to stop every 3 turnings to remind myself of the next part of the route on the map.

I'm with blunt on this one. Except the toilet bit.

Once I've been somewhere, I generally don't need to refer to a map again, and If i I do its only at the start of the journey to kick start the ole memory.

I can and do read maps but ....

Does a map tell you where there are traffic jams and re-route you accoridngly?
Can a map tell you where the speed cameras are located?
Can a map steer you to the nearest petrol station ?
Can a map tell you what the weather's like where you're going?

no, no, no and no.

Whilst maps are great (particularly OS maps for walking), I love my TomTom - if you live in the SE then it's truly essential for navigating your way through the nightmare that is the M25 and London.

The other day we had an awaygame and I had to drive upfront as I was the only 1 who still had a roadmap in my car, the others didn't have a roadmap or TomTom...
