As is my custom, I shall no doubt wait several years before I buy:sideways:

Bastet

which is not always a bad thing as some new things have in past proven to be less then stable. In a whiles time all the start up problems have been ironed out, or the product did a crash and burn. :flirty:

Tbh I am VERY surprised it does NOT support 3G (or even the next gen after 3G) which makes the phone ancient technology wise. Especially when it is launched later in Europe and Asia where 3G is considered old ...

Think they made a boo boo here tbh.

Couldn't agree more. While I like the idea they haven't engineered this thing for the European market. When I go back home I'm still amazed at how lacking the mobile phone market is over there..

I'm giving this one a miss. Oh and Itunes sux..

smilodon

Hmmm a phone that isn't G3, doesn't do MMS  and does absolutely nothing my phone doesn't already do. So ultimately a bit of eye candy, much like the iPod. No thanks.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Well, given that I don't use 3G, or MMS, and I'm really vain so care more about style than function, it seems ideal for me! :dribble:

I've had two 3g-capable phones (including my current one, which I've set to use 2G networks only) and tbh I've not noticed any difference. Perhaps for the small sector of the population that uses their phones for internet, video-calls (eugh) and large file downloads frequently it'll be a downside but for the rest of us all it needs to do it call, text, receive the occasional email in an emergency, and perhaps be a music player (which is the reason I chose my w850) if you like music.

it has WiFi, it has EDGE, it'll not suffer in missing a 3g radio, but it will have a better battery life as a result! ;)

...and Cisco have just taken Apple to court over the use of the name "iPhone". Seemingly it has been a Linksys product since 2006!!

yip, and it's been a Linksys trademark since 2000, some company they bought who were using it.

...tbh I'm not terribly surprised Apple released it anyway, but you'd think they could think up another name anyway...
