Shouldn't the goverment be working harder on the causes of accedents...like drink driving? it seams like thats just a christmas issue...

i take it the cost will be lower on a motorbike?

the cost should be less than half for deliver drivers as we depend on them :sideways:

also theres other ways of keeping old people and bad drivers off the road:
compulsory tests every 5 years maybe?

Well it just seems we are in a Goverment Big Brother.

We have cameras everywere, we have microchips in our bins and now they making everyone eat healthy and forcing us to comply with more and more stupid ways to empty our pockets of all the money they can.

I for one is against this idea it is yet putting yet another controlling aspect on a country that i feel is going down the drain. We have so many issues in this country and it seems all they want to do is punish those tax payers and good citizens and making them pick up the slack on those people not paying for Road Tax.

If this goes ahead it would be like having a policeman in your back seat, if you speed it will record and send it back. I for one think the 70 MPH limit is a joke and with nowadays cars it should be increased.

They should track those down exploiting our laws and taking money they shouldnt have, expelling those people who are not ment to be here and last of all get rid of TONY BLAIR who is by far the worst thing that has happened to this country!

TBH as Smilo said, fairplay with the 3omph, but looking at modern cars, I know this is extreme, but a Maclaren F1 can stop from 100ish (I think) in the same distance as the highway code says you should from 30mph. I realise this is top notch, but with the advances in car tech, it is a bit of a joke. And also, when people drive faster they pay more attention to the road. Its when you're dawdling along that the brain switches off.

Which is basically what the statistics on the Safe Speed site say. P Fast drivers actually seem to be safer than slow ones :g:

you know, theylle soon start imposing laws on how many times can you use your loo per day, not to mention a loo that has Insert Coin on the top...

You've got a PM who hasn't got to worry about being re-elected, and a Labour Government arguably in its death throes, and thus not really too fussed about popularity measures.

I think it has every chance of going through...

Pretty much how I feel to be honest. I generally drive at least 10mph above the limit, unless i'm in a build up urban area where there could well be kids and stuff running about. In such cases I stick to 30, or whatever the limit happens to be if it's above that.

Having almost been wiped out by idiots bombing past well over the limit and too close when I was cycling along, I have far more issue with people who just don't have due courtesy for other road users, particularly if they're bicycles, which are of course smaller, lighter etc etc.

If you're a cyclist in the NL and you get hit it's almost everytime the cars fault. Also when it's the cyclist fault. Over here they're overprotected.:ranting2:
As an example, Erik (King) once hit a scooter and were sure that guy was speeding as my bro never saw him untill it was to late. Result: it was my borthers fault even though the guy on the scooter was driving to fast.
Also when cyclist turn on the road without looking or such and drive infront of a car it's the cars fault.
