Please pass  this on. It only takes a minute. The government's proposal to introduce road  pricing will mean you having to purchase a tracking device for your car and  paying a monthly bill to use it.

The tracking device will cost about  Â£200 and in a recent study by the BBC, the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a  rural florist and £194 for a delivery driver.

A non working Mum who used the car  to take the kids to school paid £86 in one month.

On top of this massive increase in  tax, you will be tracked. Somebody will know where you are at all times. They  will also know how fast you have been going, so even if you accidentally creep  over a speed limit you can expect a NIP with your monthly bill.

If you care about our freedoms and  stopping the constant bashing of the car driver, please sign the petition on No  10's new website.

Please pass this on to anyone who  owns a car/motorcycle. It affects them.

It's already expensive to run a car, if it wasn't for this extra cost I wouldn't be as bothered. Both me and the wife need separate cars as we both work 25 miles from home in opposite directions. That's going to be expensive. :(

I got that email too i thought it was a joke..... :ranting2: ..and hope it will never come into practice!

Sounds nice, huh? geeking government people constantly peeking at you, making you pay more money, but always ready to find you if you get lost.. and only for a small fee each month.. woohoo..
Im glad we don't have that in Denmark.. We just pay more in taxes and the price on the cars are higher..

But if thats going to be done, I think Ill skip my plan of trying out living in the UK..

Plus road pricing would keep all the pensioners off the road as they wouldn't be able to afford the extra cost, thus making the roads safer and less congested straight away.

Also the prices will vary at different times of day, at peak times it goes up, thus non-essential users will plan their journeys at off peak times, meaning commuters will get an easier ride to work with less congestion. As this will increase business productivity as less time will be spent on the road, I suspect businesses will pick up the part of the tab for a lot of their workers and they stand to gain.

Unfortunately you won't be able to fiddle your per mile expense account anymore, but thats a small price to pay for faster, easier and less congested transport. The money thats raised can go into actually giving us decent roads rather than potholed roller coasters that play havoc with your suspension, and driving might, just might become fun again, all few a few extra pence per mile.

I'd pay it...

Do you honestly believe that the revenue raised would go anywhere near improving the roads? :roflmao:
