Do people play BF2 any more?

I was really not feeling like playing WoW on Monday, so i logged onto Boomer to attemt some CS. Was quite fun, as my ping seems to have stabilised again (I stopped playing BF2 cos it went up from 30 to 300 for about 2 months, after which I gave up). Pretty soon all the people on there wandered elsewhere though, so I thought i'd try some BF2 again, but the in game server browser and XFire were both unable to talk to the BF2 or PRMM servers listed in the servers thread on the forums.

Has everyone stopped playing BF2 on DMW, so the servers are now offline, or have I just failed at connecting to them, or what?

My twinbro da_Ricci plays BF2 sometimes.
I've heard that NinjaFreak plays sometimes over at the RIPservers.
I haven't played a game of BF2 in quit a bit, to busy at the moment but I might pick it up again in a month. I sometimes play a bit of BF2142 though just to relax a bit (don't want to disturb any games on Boomer/MeatHook).

PRMM was played on the Monday-evenings but seems to have died a bit...

Yup.. I'm on the RIP servers most nights from around 9pm onwards.. Just got promoted and unlocked my third sniper rifle (super accurate, sound's fab) and third support gun..

BF2 rox..

I cba with the need to mess about with "experience" to unlock a fps game I thought I'd bought complete. "All-unlocks available to anyone" type servers were fun though.

...also it's not the easiest game to get and keep running smoothly on my pc. It got into the habit of crashing without explanation after about 2-3 minutes of multiplayer so now it's no longer installed

What's the difference to WOW levelling up?? Same-Same

I've got the game,I might give it a go now, and I am as of now, on my computer! Meaning I have Internet.

Make you you get Special forces with it..

Each time you go up a rank you'll get 2 unlocks..

BF2 was good fun and if it was more pick-up-and-play like CSS I'm sure I'd probably still be playing it. Cant (or don't want to) spend months levelling up before I can enjoy the full game.

mainly it was the emptiness of the dMw BF2 server and the constant crashing that stopped me playing

I knew as I was typing that I was putting my foot in my mouth.. Sorry.. Didn't mean to offend..

To be honest I enjoy BF2 even without the leveling up. but I do play it alot.

no offence construed

I still enjoy BF2 without the extra guns but it annoys me that you have to "grind" on "official" servers in order to get access to the rest of the game. Plus as I said my pc is just too old:doh:
