It really pees me off when people pass off these incidents as 'amateur night' attempts. The execution may have been flakey but the intent was real enough.

Driving a lighted Jeep full of who knows what into a passenger terminal full of families waiting to get away on holiday makes the IRA look like a bunch of softies and they certainly scared the crap outta me at the height of their activities.

It amazes me how many people there are who are prepared to support reducing their 'carbon footprint' but can't understand why unpopular proactive action in foreign policy is far more important to ensure our wellbeing.

I live not-too-far-away in London - tbh I didn't even read the story until sometime after the 2nd one was found! Doesn't sound too worrying on the whole except for the fact that these (potentially) slipped under the radar during the planning stages. Not sure I'd take the registers black copters, smoke and mirrors article too seriously though ...my mum'd probably think it a more genuine explanation:rolleyes:

The 2nd merc (plus petrol and nails etc) was not flagged until after it was towed away by some council lakkey due to being illegally parked ... awesome. Ruthlessly efficient council jobsworthiness cleared the area without even realising the thing reeked of petrol ... sigh, should be safe in Islington then. Council car lot might not a safe place to visit though!

These attacks are terrible. If I was going to set a bomb I'd atleast check the theory was sound before doing it. This is what we get for equal opportunities. Even retards can get jobs - buy gas cylinders - start a small fire.
I doubt this would happen if you didn't have to get retards jobs. They'd be sat at home on benifits eating microwave meals watching Trisha. Problem solved. Tim for Priminister.

P.S: If you want something to explode pick something with an oxidising agent (even sugar is one), or mix to the right balance with air. A highly compressed gas cylinder is going to need ~500x more air to burn than it's volume so will not explode if ignited in the bottle. Crashing the car with with windows down and the canisters open then lighting after 5 mins would have caused massive damage.
