I remeber a mate was on his driving test for his car license and he was driving along a road and a cat ran out. It stopped in the road and so he slowed to a halt. Finally the cat moved out of the road and although he came to a halt safely and did all the relevant procedures his instructor had taught him he failed his test. The reason being that in the highway code the cat is not mentioned and you must only stop for a dog. So the examiner expected him to run the cat over.
