Right, it might be a fairly simple procedure but I can find much about it.
I've got huge folders of sequential video files that I want to backup to DVD. The videos are split into series but I don't mind if they overlap disks at the start and ends of series as long as they remain in order.
I've put on Nero 7 Ultra on (7.8.5.0) hoping it would be straight forward but if I overfill a disk it just won't burn, there is no straighforward option to split across disks.

Does anyone know a way to (in Nero preferably) split the files across disks in order without doing it manually for each disk (there are probably going to be 14-20 disks so I'm trying to avoid the manual option).

Eg: Load all the files into a template window and put in order. if the 4.7GB limit is half way through episode 10 the program will burn episodes 1-9 to one disk and the 10-? on the next one, and so on.

Problem solved (largely).

I got a program called Hardlink which you direct to a folder and it splits it to disk sizes (CD, DVD5, DVD9). And it makes hardlinks to them so when you load Nero you just drag the folders it creates into the area for burning 1 by 1 and you've got fitting disks and it even tells you how much you've used of the last disk.
And because they're only hard links not copies they are created instantly without moving things on your HDD.

29 DVDs in I'm glad I have it. But if anyone knows of a way to do it in Nero it would still be useful.

I'd been waiting for someone to answer as I've had the same issue.

Thanks for posting up T-Bag, if I find anything else I'll shout.

I have large amounts of work data and i want to put it onto discs. The problem being that dvd's are simply too small i really want to get a blu ray or hd dvd writer so i can write around 25gb each but they are at the moment just simply too expensive.
