A quiet moment for reflection.

Lo fellas

Last night during the interval/half time break
I actually managed to join the wrong side.
Now Tealeaf was typing in the console and [OG]shaft was replying
rather abruptly I thought. Now what happened after that is all my
fault but to cut a long story short(to avoid further embarasment)

I told the guy to P*** Off with a certain amount of feeling behind it.

Now I know its caused a certain amount of amusement for some people,
But if my actions in anyway cause the good name of the clan to be
brought into disrepute I feel that I must offer to hand back my badge -=[dMw]=-
and fall on my sword.

Never mind mate, by the sounds of things they have a really crap server or there were some major network issues, I've never been in a match where the lag is too bad but if I was I would likely swear and curse more than my normal level, if that is possible. And tell them to postpone the match.

At a guess they had the max rate set really low to accomodate their modem users. So perhaps having rate set above 7 or 8000 shafted the teams connections. It certainly makes sense as a rate of 8000 will work fine on boradband and a good modem line.

They had it set at 10,000 and were complaining that his broadband rate setting (left at the HL default) meant that they had extra difficulty hitting him. I have to say that with my albeit limited understanding of the way the rates work they would not get that effect though. :roll:

It wasnt my settings they was complaining about tho.......

Oh and I tried that falling on the sword bit................. I missed !!

:oops: I take responsibility for that to some degree, I gave him my setting but like the fool I am didn't mention anything about some servers not being set to run as high as we use. I should have told him some settings to use on lower configured servers.

If anyone think I should fall on my spoon, then I shall do so. I don't get supplied with a sword or indeed even a knife whilst on MH therefore a leap from a high place will be required to cause suitable penetration through the blunt end of my spoon, and it's a soup spoon as well so more rounded at the end.

i see no problem with personal settings ...each player must try to find the best settings for the machine / isp / connection speed ect......

As for Squonk being difficult to hit that was a lie .... i hit him a few times in that match and i wasnt even aiming for him :roll:

So put your spoons away before somone gets hurt :wink:
