Bad Driving Vids

Hello again everyone.
I just noticed I seem to be the only one posting here :g:

I've made 2 short vids of shamefull driving at the last long race at SO CLASSIC in the fwd gtr's 06/09/07

1st is me being held up on lap 6 for a whole lap by a back maker who was ignoring the HUGE blue flag on his screen.

2nd is the same guy on lap 7 holding up The Three, Vobler, Me and Oldie. He slams on the bakes and causes The Three to hit him then rolls in in the last turn tyring take out as many of us as possible!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y37aUbm8J-s

I have made a Hall of FAME and SHAME folder on my Youtube Site, feel feel to mail me any vids you want me to add. I'll do a seperate post for that. I though it would be cool for all to see incidents of all types to judge for them self.

I think the standard has been increased quite a bit since I was there... I am quite sure I would end up poking someone and get banned rather quickly :blush2:

Edit: But okay, I would not ignore a blue flag... that fella asked for the ban

Hi Freestyler, sorry mate, I just meant the LFS area, if you look most posts were from me but I'm busy and only race part time so please excuse my  apparent ignorance, I just try to add a bit when I can but I don't spend much time here beleive me its not my intention to offend anyone. :flirty:

I didn't see that incident, but I have seen lot of similar cases.

I think the person is a) an ignorant idiot who just wants to ruin other people's fun b) a complete newbie who doesn't know anything about racing rules. Usually the case b is combined with a total lack car controlling skills which make it even more dangerous.

You might think there cannot be case b. But there are lot of young kids who have no idea what yellow or blue flag means or have any general knowledge of racing rules. What makes it worse is that they cannot often speak english, so shouting at them gives no response usually.

It is often impossible to spot a from b and so just banning is really the only possible thing to do. Besides what else could you do if you cannot even speak a language they understand.

In LFS there should be a short quiz before you can connect to an online race for the first time. You would need to get 100% correct before allowed to join. Like..

1. What does a blue flag mean?
a) zomg You are a 1337 racer and you pwn everybody.
b) The driver behind you is going to overlap you and you should let him pass you in a safe place (asap).
c) Your engine is overheating
d) The crowd is ecstatic from your magnificent driving and they are flying flags for you.

2. What does a yellow flag mean?
...
3. Your car lands upside down on a track in the middle of a race. What should you do first?
a) look how nice scenery there is
b) take your coffee and sandwitches and enjoy the race
c) spectate yourself
d) count how many drivers are able to miss your wrecked car

4. Asking setups constantly in the middle of a race, is...
a) nice way to get a good set
b) ok
c) Totally acceptable
d) rude, because it disturbs people trying to race.

5. Which of these is a correct place to ask for a restart?
a) In a 60 lap race at lap 59
b) You are the only person who misses T1 and ruins his car
c) You have won and just after you cross the finish line before the 31 other drivers have managed to finish.
d) When there is no race or qualifying going and everybody have finished.

Hello Aquilifer,
yeah nice post and valid points to be sure but this guy hit the brakes pursposly causing The Three to hit him and then drove into the cerb to roll on the 2nd fastest corner and trickest on the track. I have seen him do this kind of thing before as I recongnise his funny name symbol. In this case I followed him for the over 2 laps and he was not at all slow I was just a fair bit faster and he just refused to move and it went on from there.
