Quote from: Penfold;206985I can't check any challenges as I'm so l33t I'm at the top of the ladder.

God I'm good.....

Shame you dance like a nonce though innit...nice smiley.

EDIT with something useful.

I think that once the team captains have been decided it should be discretionary as to whether the members reveal themselves. Playing anonymously would be a huge benefit. I don't want to know I'm playing Lee!

I disagree for two reasons:

1. We need to know the teams to ensure that they're not too strong.
2. We need to know the teams so that substitutions aren't made.

I agree with your disagreement.  On the subject of substitutions, would it be an idea to have a pool of substitutes (people who don't want to play in a team every week/two) rather than having all of the teams with extra players?

I like the sound of that, that be a good way to get more involved that might otherwise not want too or be able to.

Yes nice idea.

It's a good solution for those players who'd like to participate but who do not  / can not commit to regular games.

The ladder is now up and running on the dMw server.  Please let me know if there are any major issues but from my initial testing it all seems to work.

You can access the ladder at http://77.108.129.45/csladder/

It will be made available on http://csladder.deadmen.co.uk/ once the DNS entries are done.  This is the address we should give the team captains for sign up.

I have reset the passwords on the test accounts to "deadmen" due to an issue with the old passwords.

Now we just need the players and the rules finalised (PEN!):D

I'm on it.

Been in hospital having an operation... Am just out but I'm still a bit fuzzy. I will post it up asap.

thanks

Anyway, here is a draft.

I will improve the English and grammar when I feel a bit better - so this is just an outline.

Please add your comments / amendments / changes.

Thanks

dMw Ladder

 SET UP:

  Teams will comprise 4 players

No substitutes will be allowed apart from substitutes from the pool of temporary players (players who do not want to commit to a dedicated team).

You are only allowed to be part of one team or be in the substitute pool.

Team names should not be offensive

Admins reserve the right to reject teams it they are deemed to be too powerful and, as such, would ruin the enjoyment of the ladder.

Team Captains to submit team name and players via PM to Penfold, Squ0nk, Dr Sadako or Whitey where they can be updated on the master forum list

Players wishing to join the Substitutes Pool please submit your name via PM to Penfold, Squ0nk, Dr Sadako or Whitey where they can be updated on the master forum list

Team Captains to sign up to the ladder (http://csladder.deadmen.co.uk/) . If you have any queries about the ladder, please speak to one of the admins.

  LADDER:

Teams can only challenge teams a maximum of 2 positions above you.

Game will be MR9 with 3 minute rounds, 35 C4

Challenging team picks map and team (NO Knives round)

Maps available for matches are CS:S standard maps and maps from dMw's current map packs ( or map of the week – chosen by admin )

Matches to be played on Thursdays and/or Sundays and are to be supervised by an admin (list at bottom)

It is the challenging team’s responsibility to contact an admin via PM,  Steam Friends or MSN to see if they are available.

Each team has to play a minimum of one match/challenge per fortnight. If not, the team forfeits two positions on the ladder. There is no maximum number of challenges  a team can issue (however see next point relating to refused challenges).

Once your team has played one game in the fortnight cycle, you may refuse further challenges until the next cycle.

The team at position one does not need to challenge anyone.

A win or a draw against a team at a higher position than you means that the teams swap position on the ladder.

Losing against a team at a higher position means that the teams remain at their current position on the ladder

  SUBSTITUTES POOL

If you do not wish / are unable to joining a team but would like to play the occasional game, then the Substitutes Pool is for you.

Teams who are due to play a match but who are short of a player can ask someone from the substitutes pool to join their team for that particular game.

Substitute players are not obliged to accept an invitation to join a game

There is no minimum (or maximum) game requirement for substitutes.

QuoteTeam Captions to submit team name and players via PM

[/B]Team captions eh? Sounds good.

Liking it. Sod the knife round, challenger chooses side, let's bias it to the underdogs to get some movement in the ladder.

Sounds good to me :)

The public (mani) admins don't have admin access on the private servers, so they should be removed from the list.  I agree with Sadako in changing the order of the names to have the more active admins at the top as people will generally work down the list to find an admin.

Any full admins on the list who don't want to be, now is your chance to get off.
