A good combo and one I'm sure we will return to. The long 'un was spoiled by a series of network 'events' that saw a few racers being suddenly dumped out of the server and Ventrilo - including Deetz (the runaway leader) who was dropped on lap 27. I thought he took it remarkably well :flirty:

Stats are here.

MPR file is here.

Oooh, these stats are fantastic. Do you have these for earlier long races by chance?

For the record, when I first joined the server yesterday at about 20:00 CET, it dropped me several times in a 10 minute timeframe (or minutes? do you put plural here?). I though it was my connection, but now I have doubts.

The stats are still flaky and I'm waiting for the author to respond to my request to fix the last bug which is stopping the app from outputting the results files at the end of every race. To ensure the files are output we have to enter a /end command :eyebrow:

Older files are not available but I will ensure that from now on we get the long race stats.

It's interesting to see that I get my faster lap times in the late laps of the race. Maybe it's the tyres that they cool down as they wear out, or I just get into rythm as the race progresses, or I just learned the combo as I didn't get much practice on it this time. Don't know.
And it's a shame to see how much deviant my lap times are, although I'd like to see it without the first three and the pit lap.

:sideways: 8 laps or there abouts. The dummy is still bouncing of the walls!

:D

Deetzie, what can I say? It must have been gutting!

Well done to everyone that managed to cling on to the edge of the cliff.

Excellent stats. Makes for interesting reading.

Er...I'm probably talking through an orifice not designed for speaking but, LFS Dedi can be made to save replays to a folder automatically. Would there be a wrinkle there?
No? :getmecoat:

Few comments:

- it doesn't list best splits when it says "best splits". Those are best sectors
- Best possible lap=sum of best sectors
- Pitstop is bit misleading:
- I didn't refuel, don't know what stop and start mean

- Deetz would have been the rightful winner
- Iron made a good climb! :tumbs up: (too bad you missed the qualifying)
- Good race was spoiled by so many disconnections

I was very very ****ed when I got disconnected, :ranting2: but once over that initial disappointment..... well there was nothing to do but grin and bear it. :no2:

It was a good race though, with Aquilifer keeping me honest all the way after a t1 mistake early on, a deserving win..... :crying:

A decision to change the setup I was going to use shortly before the race helped me be a bit more consistent as fuel load and tyre temps changed.

Brief race overview from my perspective.

A good tight fight early on, with Mentjens XRT getting the best start to take an early lead, with me second and Aquilifer third. However Mentjens was a touch slower than Aquilifer and me, allowing Aquilifer to attempt some passes in the first couple of laps.
A bad exit from a failed overtaking manoeuvre by Aquilifer, released the pressure a little and allowed me to attack Mentjens without worrying about my back. After a couple of laps of pressure Mentjens put a back wheel on the grass, and the resulting spin put him right down the order.
Over the next lap or two Aquilifer regained his rhythm, and having closed the gap once more, started to look for ways past, but breaking a touch too late for turn one, he drifted too wide at turn one, out onto the grassy verge, loosing a number of places as he regained the track proper.
The remaining laps until my pit stop were spent looking after the tyres, keeping some consistent laps going while trying to keep the tyre temperatures down.
After my stop I noticed Aquilifer about 8.5 seconds behind me and tried to open the gap up a bit, but driving harder simply meant I was less consistent and the lap times suffered, so after giving myself a stiff talking too, I knuckled down to do some better more consistent laps. Which I duly did opening the gap slightly to just under 9 seconds.
I was managing to maintain some consistent 1.58 laps, and was happy with those even though Aquilifer had again taken a small amount of time back off me with the gap down to about 8.25 seconds, when !"£$%^&*(&^%^&* I was disconnected. Race over.
Overall I was happy with the race, just not the result. Roll on the next one.  :dribble:

Nice race all, with special mention to Vobler and Iron, well done guys.

OldBloke, keep the stats going, great stuff.

Superb post. If you're not careful you'll get the job of post race analyzer/reporter type person.

I was talking to Max Mosley during a lunch and he said FIA might investigate this issue after they have finished the McLaren spying case. :learn:
