Seems that apart from being crap I have another problem. I crash to the desktop whenever I swap weapon and then swap immediately again i.e. roll the scroll wheel through the weapon options. Happens on all servers and will all classes and on all maps. Slow swapping is fine if I leave a few seconds between swaps.  Just curious if anyone has heard of this problem. A Goggle finds nothing useful.  ???

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

must be just me then. No TF2 for me at the LAN

Update: Do not bind the mouse-wheel- scroll up to "quit game". It usually ends in tears.

Sheepy appears and begins to stroke my head. According to his slurred drunken speech I am "lovely and like a fuzzy felt". Thankfully he soon leaves and passes out somewhere. [/quote]

Side Note: if you are going to the LAN, never leave you PC alone, logged in, otherwise these things can occur without you knowing ;)

bind MOUSE1 kill

T-Bag

Not heard of the mousewheel thing...but I doubt it would happen if you set a button to next weapon rather than the scroll, if you have more buttons on the mouse.

Nah, I miss read the first one and thought you'd tried rebinding mouse wheel to fix it. Reading thoroughly helps sometimes but I try not to and just fill in the blanks with stuff I make up.

(just of of curiosity why does quit not work if it's done slowly or did you roll the other way?)

for 'tracking that down' read......'stumbling across it'.

Seems I rolled the wheel slowly down selecting weapons...no problem. Then I scroll down fast and back up fast and pow...."Hello desktop where did you come from?"

I've got a good few hours in on TF2 now and will have a go at any class except scouts (silly), spies (I have no idea how they work) and engineers (to many options). However I'm obviously a guy with a fat dumpy fellow in a gas mask inside that's trying to get out.

Love the burn!

I love to Play as Scout and Spy, they're often done badly but very useful classes once you get to grips with it. I'm also a huge fan of the demoman and medic, but just letting you know to persevere with the first 2 they're worth it. Not worth it on the other hand is sniper not a fan, and HW-Guy unless you have a decent medic on your side it's hard to get a decent score.
