Haddock

Hello!

After a longer break driving LFS Aquilifer gave the hint to have a look to dMr. Well, it's my taste even when I was beginning with a stupid fault (sorry again, Doorman :cheers:).

So I want to be more times on your server but because I'm a shift worker it is often a time problem, like these days (night shift).

Some short words to LFS: Playing it since 2005, favorite cars many, input device joystick/keyboard.

Cheers

Welcome Haddock!

We're in the same boots mate, that was the reason I never joined any leagues/teams before, but since I first raced with these guys I simply can't play on public servers anymore. Sometimes when I work in late/night shift I try to play in the morning or afternoon on public servers, but I usually quit after 5 minutes. It's not the same, and then I was expressing myself very subtly. I think we should have a warning about that. :D

There's not one among us that hasn't made a 'stupid mistake'. I can't remember what yours was. :) Welcome to our forum.
Joystick eh? You're not in the Luftwaffe are you? :D

Aquilifer

Hi and welcome to the forum too. :)

Fish jokes? Yeah I know the captain in Tin Tin is named Haddock, but I can't think any good fish jokes based on that. Maybe I should spend more time on Vent... who knows what kind of jokes they are telling about me :g:

Hai!

Thx a lot for that great welcome. :)

"Haddock" is my alias since first multiplayer games in early 1990' because I like the "Captain Haddock" from Herge's comic strip "Tintin". Really funny that it is enjoying you so much, well, so I think I have to live with this spot as a fish face when I choose a name like this. :byebye:

@Iron:
You're right. On public servers are too many people which are confusing LFS with Demolition Derby. Some of them 15 years in age or younger, they never driven a real car.
I like to play LFS in that style you are doing on dMr. I was trying to build up a same typ of team with some friends (PCT-Motorsport), but only one guy was left beside me. We have a LFS server running with that name on a Linux machine, that's all left from PCT (except the skins).

@Doorman:
I've tried using wheel/pedals several times, but I'm not to be keen to spend the time which is necessary to learn it from the beginning. With joystick I'm playing since early 1980's. Even if I know about the design limitation of a stick compared to a wheel/pedal for me it is the better way. I'll never be the fastest one, but lap times in race are more secondary because there are so many things which can happen in race and which are deciding about the results - that's the reason why we do racing, correct?  :)
We\'ll race us...
