Having nothing better to do  I concocted the points accrued on all combo's from May '07. Points calculated on 15,12,10,8,6,5,4,3,2,1 basis. I have excluded non regulars and one shot aliens.

Looks like Deetz is going away easily with the -=[dMw]=-LFS-Championship Trophee 2007.

I must have a few points, I came 2nd in the F08's, or is this just DMR people?

No there are atleast 2 non DMR's there. So then you must be one of the one-shot aliens.... :yahoo:

Hey hey, I didn't know points were given! Maybe I would have taken part in the long races earlier.

Interesting list, but the number of races driven by drivers are quite varying. For example Romus hasn't been in so many long races yet. Looking at the list makes me think that Stoney has skipped quite a few races too. Deetz winning is not so big surprise - he drives less short races but comes to the long race and steals the victory in front of others. :) <--- smilie added to please OldBloke and to show that it was said in good intention

Did you make a spreadsheet? Maybe you could try other point standings or points/races driven sorting too what order they give (just for fun).

The points given for each place have always been in debate. When the F1 and WRC (and other FIA series?) changed from 10,6,4,3,2,1 to 10,8,6,5,4,3,2,1, some complained that the point difference between the 1st and 2nd places is not enough. This hasn't been the only change during the years. Before the war (1935-39) the following table was used (defined by Association Internationale des Automobile Clubs Reconnus (AIACR) )...

1 point to 1st position
2 points to 2nd position
3 points to 3rd position
4 points to those that completed 75 % of the race
5 points to those who completed 50% of the race
6 points to those who completed 25% of the race
7 points to those who did not complete 25% of the race
8 points to those who did not start.
The champion was the person with least points. Of course this gave some unfair sounding results sometimes. For a modern racing viewer this might look odd that drivers at the 4th place or worse got the same 4 points if they just finished

So point is that with a different point systems you can get often different winners. :)

Missing smilie I hope.

Yes. :) :) :)

My intention was to say that he doesn't seem to drive as much of the short races as many others. For example Doorman and OldBloke are racing every night what I have seen. Also I try to practise most nights. :)

Romus

Hmm, got an idea. It would be possible to make a nice table with Google docs spreadsheet. It could have finishing orders from every big race and show results per month and per year.

A lots of statistics should be possible with a spreadsheet. I used to be an Excel hacker in my previous job, I could also spend a little time with that. Thanks for an idea Lameduck. (though now I must say that it will never happen)

Looks like 69 points required, but I make it 23.
So see first post.

Aquilifer

Anybody not happy with the points can demand for a recount. If that doesn't help, take it to the high court. :norty:
