Yep.

what do you mean.. mine's fine :D

Lameduck

X37 is out with a good size download.:D

Doorman

Still defaults to 5 laps on restart. :sideways:

X38 and after having a quiet word with Scawen, the defaulting to 5 laps bug has been sorted. It's now what you know, it's WHO you know. :flirty:

Regarding the switch from analogue to digital speedos in UFRs. (and every car upwards!) I had a word with Scawen to get him to change it back.

He told me to sod off!

John_Rees

Yeah Sod off :narnar:

No seriously I'm shocked at the idea to change to digital, I guess most race spec track cars actually have digital replacements fitted, maybe this is his thinking.
The trouble is the digital read out is not part of the dash, it floats which makes it unrealistic and thats a step backwards IMO, I don't like the digital look.

I think I'll stay on patch 31 so I don't loose the analogue display.

Lol, you take Lfs too seriously.

I like a digital speedo, a virtual one too.

Doorman

Patch Y is in the wild! Server sorted. :D

Hah, the car I just bought has a dashboard like this: http://www.vectralcd.de/ersterTest.jpg and scawen removes the digital speedo from the road cars. o.O

Seriously, I used digital when I was a beginner in LFS, and used to glance at it at the apex. But then I read that you should drive by the feel, not by numbers on your dash like a robot, so I tried it, switched to analog, and didn't look back.

I used digital speedo for one reason really. That was for pit lane speed. If a car didn't have limiter it was easier to read your speed. Now I can't even see always where is the 80km/h mark in the speedo.

Also another situation was that if there was wind i checked from the speedo is my speed higher or lower in certain spots and guesssed the wind direction and speed from it. Then I tryed to adjust my brake points. That was useful at the first lap, but now I have to do it by feel and learn it the hard way.

Don't worry though. I understood the gtr interiors, and that includes xfr/ufr, are going to look better in the future patch so the bit odd analog rev counter + digital speedo is going to be fixed (hopefully digital/digital in big gtrs and analog/analog at least in ufr).

That's pretty much how it is for most of us I guess. Scawen has made the numbers bigger on the analogue dials but all it needed was a pitlane 'redline'  painted on the dial. Anyway, it's done so I reckon we just get on with it.
Have you noticed how very basic the UFR cockpits are now? Roll cages have lost their detail etc. The updated cockpits better arrive soon or I won't send them their lunch vouchers!

They are better, but on some cars like FXO they are too big and IIRC 40km/h between each marker so too far each other. Then in RAC the speedo is so small that in my screen size and resolution I couldn't see what numbers there were. I had to guess where the 80km/h marker is and then memorise it for the pit stops :(

Can't remember how they looked before. It's been while I drove UFR and I don't even have the hires pack now because it isn't compatible I guess. Without the hires pack everything looks bit...plain.

Yeah a pitspeed indication on the speedo would be good. I have switched to digital since I have had enough of guessing how fast i was going.
