Ive for a while been trying to locate a nice, action packed Flight combat sim, not like MS ones that are impossible to steer in.. but a nice sim where you take off and the point being you kicking butt with your big mean plane.. not spending 99% of your brain capacity on a keeping the plane above the ground :P

I've been looking at a game under development atm called Jump gate. It looks a bit like eve online, but you have to actually pilot the space crafts yourself rather than click on the ship you want to dock.
Depending on what I'm doing at the time of its release I might give it a go.

Any of the Ace Combat series is what you want then. Pure arcade fun and action. check out the trailers of Ace Combat 6 under media on http://www.acecombatsix.com/

The only thing is they are console only.

Don't suppose you have Ace Combat 6 do you Whitey? I've seen a couple of vids of it and was considering getting meself a copy, but i've seen mixed reviews so an opinion from an unbiased non-journalism source would be good :)

If you don't mind space sims, have you considered Freelancer? Ok, it's quite an old game, but I found it's mouse control system to be absolutely excellent and far more usable than a joystick. I wish more games had picked up on it as a control method. Some do have mouse control, but they've never got the way it should work right, which Freelancer did.

Kreg, which game did you get?

I've just bought IL-2 Sturmovik - 1946.
Heard that Mr. Doorman and Mr. Seany have the game aswell (heard it from BFC who has the game also).
Ron, how's that flightstick working for you? I've used mine in BF2 and it works for me. Any good setups possible for IL-2, 1946?

I see that Twine mentions JGE in this thread.
Seems I've missed this reply. JGE is still not in Beta but when it is I'll let you know as I allready won a Betakey.
There are a few competitions where you can win a betakey should you be interested.
