This combo just feels so incredibly nice! :) I've really enjoyed the practice races these past nights, and I think the long 'un this week will be a blast.

Say what you like about the FZ5, but I think it's very well suited for close racing. Even if you upset the balance slightly or come off the ideal racing line in "close combat" you'll still have a decent chance at recovering control and avoid disaster. It's pretty forgiving IMO (although the tires will burn if you mess around too much, of course.)

:D I suspect there'll be some that will disagree with that. Who was it on my headphones that said "I just can't get my head round this car!"
I have a cunning plan for this week. I'll trundle round gently while everyone else does their tyres in and crashes. Then I'll sail over the line without a scratch. Sorted! Put me down for 10 points bob. :norty:

10 pints? Certainly Doorz, but you shall be very poorly

Gnomie

Well yes, I know there's some controversy about the car. :D

There's only four things I dislike about this combo ... tyres.:sideways:

it was me

i think you took it the wrong way, i was struggling with the car trying to get up to speed,  as lameduck knows over the last 2 days, i was constantly in the 2.00 and just could not find any speed, then last night managed a 1.58,  i did not mean i dislike the combo just i was finding it very hard:g:

I don't know if I like this combo or not. I did not really like it at first, I used the set which I had used in a previous FZ5 @ KY NAT combo, but this was way too understeery. Yesterday I downloaded a new setup which is much better, however the strange thing is that though it feels much better, my lap times didn't improve. *shrugs*

Mille Sabords

I like this combo as well, learning how to drive without a mouse here is an interesting challenge.
I'm still 2 seconds off my mouse PB but I idscovered yesterday that the crazy oversteery set I was using was not fit at all for my un-skills...
I have been using Sean / Gnomie's set for a few laps, maybe a bit understeery but incredibly more stable and less frustrating.
I guess my mouse sets will have to go, I just realised that I was using my instant mouse countersteer moves (TM) and heavily oversteery sets to travel fast.
Time to learn how to drive :)

Doorman

Are you reading this Aquilifer? :D Mille, you thought you enjoyed LFS before, now a whole new world has opened up to you, Welcome.

Oh, and it's nice to see you post on our forum, once again, welcome. :)

Enjoy the ride! :D

I just found that we could use thread rating feature to rate our combos instead of using poll feature. Since thread ratings are not popular here, it would not create any confusion.

If we used polls then the thread starter would need to make a poll for the thread. But with thread rating the starter would not need to do anything, since every thread can be rated now already. Also, what is a great thing, thread rating looks like it would automatically calculate the average rating, whereas with polls we would need to do some calculations. Also threads can be sorted based on rating - we could easily find the favourites.

So follow me and give your stars to this thread! :D

I just simply failed to stop in the pitbox. :taz: :lmfao: When I left Ventrilo I said I had heard of this pitstop bug, but that it had never happened to me. Well, the bug was in my head, but still the first time. I watched the replay, and three times a row I drove the car far over the box.

John Rees - please pass on the 'Wally of the Week' trophy to Romus :roflmao:

Deetz

Well, despite this not being one of my favourite combo’s. I had a great, race long battle with Gnomie. I just pipped him to the post, courtesy of a better pit stop. :D

An overheating front right induced a bit too much understeer at times, requiring me to back off to get the temps back under control. The only problem was Gnomie’s car large in my rear mirror.

  Great race. :thumb:
